This is by far, the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in and I've done The Ritz Carlton, The W, etc. The details, the views, the service. From before I even arrived they were always so helpful over the phone. To get a live person is a privilege these days. I don't normally write reviews but when the experience and the service is AMAZING I have to say something. I was so nervous that something would go wrong at check out, or the rooms wouldn't be what they advertised (bc I did see that when I read the reviews of other hotels). But everything was surprisingly EVEN BETTER. I told them we were there for my daughters Sweet 16 and they upgraded our room to a balcony view of TImes Square and left balloons and a gift for her in our room when we got back from our night out!! The decor & views from the restaurant within the hotel were movie worthy. We had panoramic views of Times Square. And although I no longer live or work in the city, the views, the sound, the energy is still something I enjoy having (from time to time lol). They held our luggage for us after we checked out so we could continue to go to our pre-planned activities before we officially leave the city. When it was time to catch our train, we double backed, got our bags and kept it pushing. It wa theee smoothest hotel ever. IF we needed anything they were RIGHT ON IT, and ALWAYS with a smile!!! I think Imma come back just for me. No kids. Just some me time and self care!!

Informative review - Would stay again. We spent 1 week here at Renaissance Times Square and I will start this review by saying there are positives and negatives in relation to staying at this property, but the positives outweigh the negatives in my opinion and I would stay here again. I'll start with the positives: - Location is perfect, on your doorstep is Times Square itself, Broadway, minutes away from Restaurant Row, multiple forms of transport right outside (taxi, uber, subway, busses etc. There's not only some of the best and most popular restaurant chains right outside, but there's also multiple grocery shops only steps away (CVs around 3 minute walk, Target around a 5 to 7 minute walk etc.) - The rooms contain great facilities (Safe, fridge, ice bucket and bottle opener, iron and board, tea/coffee machine replenished daily [with sugar and creamer, decaf coffee and regular coffee, chamomile tea, breakfast tea and 3 cups], wardrobe space, desk space, large flat screen tv, storage for luggage/clothing, hair dryer, complimentary toiletries etc.) - The staff were all incredibly friendly that we engaged with throughout the stay, right from check in to check out. The cleaning staff were always very smiley and chatty and the hotel shop staff were very nice and helpful. - The window in the room had the ability to open, which is something we found isn't very common based on previous visits (this sounds minor but was a nice touch) - Great view of times square out of the room window. - Rooms are cleaned daily to a great standard. - WiFi is available throughout for guests and we didn't experience any downtime as you get in some hotels. - Wide variety in the hotel shop (many cereals, fresh fruits, sandwiches, bakery items, coffees and teas, snacks like crisps, sweets and chocolate), they provide take out or you can sit in the lobby area. The not so good: - The elevators in the building are less than adequate, firstly you need to go up one floor from reception to the lobby and then proceed to a different elevator to be taken to the rooms. Sadly, during our week long stay there was only one of two reception elevators working, which caused enormous backlogs of residents waiting to go about their days. There's only 3 further lifts that take you to room levels and all of which are very slow/dated and can only hold up to 8 people, so makes things tricky and longer when people have cases checking in/out. - I've seen reviews about the hotel being modern and renovated, so I'm unsure if some rooms are complete and others are yet to be refurbished, but we didn't find the modern/refurbished side apart from the lobby/bow tie bar. The carpet in the main bedroom appeared quite worn, the smaller mirror fitting in the bathroom was rusted and very loose, the bathroom itself was extremely dated and tile grout was dark and marked, the sealant around the bath and shower was fully peeling away and there were coloured stains on the ceiling, however overall it was very clean and appeared to be more cosmetic. The room door was very loose and it appeared others on our floor was the same, so when others open and close their doors, yours also rattles and sounds as if it's opening (even though it's not). - The shower... this one needed it's own line! It was impossible to get the temperature correct, it was either freezing cold or burning hot no matter what you try. The shower head is not adjustable, so not very powerful and more of a light stream (a bit like fine rain). The flooring is all worn away, so can get quite slippery! - The heating/cooling system is temperamental, which is I mentioned the openable window being a positive earlier, as the rooms tend to get quite warm, even in winter. Overall I would stay at this hotel again based on it's location and comfort alone - as mentioned above, the not to good points are mainly cosmetic and could be easily fixed - I'd have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for those points. If there's anything I haven't mentioned in this review that you'd like to know before or after booking, feel free to send me a question and I'll hopefully be able to help answer.

Wonderful Experience at Renaissance Times Square I recently stayed at the Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautifully designed, modern, and perfectly located right in the heart of Times Square, close to everything you want to see and do in NYC. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and surprisingly quiet considering the busy location. A special shout out to Jose N at the front desk, who provided exceptional service during my stay. He was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. His attention to detail and welcoming attitude truly made my visit memorable. I highly recommend this hotel and especially appreciate the fantastic staff!

Huge disappointment From the moment we arrived, things went downhill. My car was left double parked in the middle of Times Square while I waited for valet. Families were squeezing by with suitcases, and buses were driving uncomfortably close. When I asked for the car to be moved, I was told the doorman was nowhere to be found and that he had the keys. The bellman then told me I needed to “learn to relax” because I was too worried about my car getting damaged. That response alone set the tone for the entire stay. The hotel is listed as having a restaurant. There is no restaurant, only a bar serving extremely overpriced hot dogs and chicken tenders that were barely edible. That is not what most travelers would reasonably expect when booking a hotel advertising on site dining. The room itself was also poorly maintained. The sliding bathroom door does not even have a handle on the inside, making it awkward to close or open. It feels unfinished and careless, especially at this price point. This property used to be a nice hotel. It is now an overpriced, poorly managed disappointment. I would not stay here again.
