This is by far, the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in and I've done The Ritz Carlton, The W, etc. The details, the views, the service. From before I even arrived they were always so helpful over the phone. To get a live person is a privilege these days. I don't normally write reviews but when the experience and the service is AMAZING I have to say something. I was so nervous that something would go wrong at check out, or the rooms wouldn't be what they advertised (bc I did see that when I read the reviews of other hotels). But everything was surprisingly EVEN BETTER. I told them we were there for my daughters Sweet 16 and they upgraded our room to a balcony view of TImes Square and left balloons and a gift for her in our room when we got back from our night out!! The decor & views from the restaurant within the hotel were movie worthy. We had panoramic views of Times Square. And although I no longer live or work in the city, the views, the sound, the energy is still something I enjoy having (from time to time lol). They held our luggage for us after we checked out so we could continue to go to our pre-planned activities before we officially leave the city. When it was time to catch our train, we double backed, got our bags and kept it pushing. It wa theee smoothest hotel ever. IF we needed anything they were RIGHT ON IT, and ALWAYS with a smile!!! I think Imma come back just for me. No kids. Just some me time and self care!!

Times Square, Manhattan: Flashy Neon Lights and World-Class Culture

Times Square is at the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. The famous address—affectionately known as “the Crossroads of the World”—is home to hypnotizing billboards, giant wraparound news tickers, and the neon lights of Broadway. Beyond the glitz and gimmicks, there are a number of cultural offerings in the area, ranging from museums to Michelin-rated restaurants. Buildings of historical and architectural interest include the Paramount Building and One Times Square, the site of the annual New Year's Eve ball drop.

Nearby, the Museum of Modern Art houses a trove of masterpieces including Vincent van Gogh's The Starry Night, Claude Monet's Water Lilies paintings, and Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans. Save time for a stroll through the museum's outdoor sculpture garden, where installations are clustered around sparkling reflecting pools. About a mile north of Times Square, the David H. Koch Theater is home to one of the world’s foremost dance companies—the New York City Ballet, which stages contemporary works as well as classics like Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.

2 star dump with ridiculously high room rates- no amenities- no working kitchen If you are looking for a nice place to stay, this is not it - right now. They are in a construction phase. You can't barely find the hotel door. There are plywood walls put up with filthy, stained carpet and a pathway that directs you to the elevator to the check in floor. Small elevator. Sometimes, at night only - there is a "security guard slouched down in a chair in the corner - half asleep, half on his phone. They claim they have a "market and FULL bar" which is the biggest joke. Yes, there are some food items available for sale, but there is no working kitchen and the bar is about 3 feet wide. The concierge directed me to the wrong theater. The rooms have no amenities. It was awful, depressing and the people that spoke to me on the elevator were also releasing their unhappiness and wished they would have stayed somewhere else. Some people went to the CVS to buy food/beverage items. Your floor can be loud at night and you get woken up by loud people. It's dirty and sleazy people in front of the hotel due to the gentlemen's club. The prices are ridiculously high! One day, the concierge was busy, so I asked the man at the front desk and he refused to help me and told me to go back to concierge where they previously gave me wrong directions. at best, this is a 2 star dump.

LookElsewhere Wonderful location in Times Square, room good size, restaurants all around, but the hotel is under construction. There is no real lobby, no restaurant, a shabby temporary entryway. But the hotel is still very expensive. Look elsewhere.

Very underwhelming We booked the property for a 2.night weekend to NYC. Since we were planning to see shows, we thought it would be fun to stay in the heart of Times Square, which this property certainly is. Overall, it wish I spent my $600 per night somewhere else. The rooms did not seem as large as how they were described on the web site. The lobby was undergoing remodeling avs was pretty much useless - I have no idea if it was nice or not. We did not find out about the remodeling until a few days before checkin. There was not even a lobby restroom. We had to go to the 4th floor and wait in line for a single stall bathroom. The Marriott brand did not live up to its reputation on this trip.
