This is by far, the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in and I've done The Ritz Carlton, The W, etc. The details, the views, the service. From before I even arrived they were always so helpful over the phone. To get a live person is a privilege these days. I don't normally write reviews but when the experience and the service is AMAZING I have to say something. I was so nervous that something would go wrong at check out, or the rooms wouldn't be what they advertised (bc I did see that when I read the reviews of other hotels). But everything was surprisingly EVEN BETTER. I told them we were there for my daughters Sweet 16 and they upgraded our room to a balcony view of TImes Square and left balloons and a gift for her in our room when we got back from our night out!! The decor & views from the restaurant within the hotel were movie worthy. We had panoramic views of Times Square. And although I no longer live or work in the city, the views, the sound, the energy is still something I enjoy having (from time to time lol). They held our luggage for us after we checked out so we could continue to go to our pre-planned activities before we officially leave the city. When it was time to catch our train, we double backed, got our bags and kept it pushing. It wa theee smoothest hotel ever. IF we needed anything they were RIGHT ON IT, and ALWAYS with a smile!!! I think Imma come back just for me. No kids. Just some me time and self care!!

Way overpriced for incredibly inferior food Worst breakfast sandwich, and then worst croissant I ever had at the Market at the Renaissance.

Former fan – Be prepared for unpleasant surprises I am a Lifetime Platinum Elite member and this past summer my family spent our annual 10-day Broadway vacation at the Renaissance Times Square. When we arrived, we were unpleasantly surprised to learn that their downstairs lobby and their only restaurant were undergoing major renovation and would be closed for our entire stay. So, instead of daily buffet breakfasts and nightly snacks, we were offered a choice of either a measly 1500 Bonvoy points or a couple of cold pastries per day. To add insult to injury, in the NYC summer heat, to get to the 2nd floor main elevators, we had to queue on the ground floor in a temporary, small, stifling, un-airconditioned, unventilated, enclosed area. As to the main elevators, we were startled when we grabbed the safety hand rails and they dropped an inch or so because they were not firmly attached to the wall (see picture). When I spoke to the concierge about both elevator issues, they said they were aware but could not do anything and it might have more impact if we spoke to the hotel management ourselves. To be fair, the location of this hotel is extremely convenient, the rooms are pleasant, and I applaud the hotel for upgrading their facilities. However, in all the emails I received prior to arrival and on their website, the hotel did not once mention the renovation and closing the restaurant. Furthermore, it was obvious they needed to provide some air to the temporary waiting area and fix the elevator safety rails. So, this hotel has its advantages, but if you stay there, you should not be surprised when some unexpected unpleasant situation occurs due to the hotel’s lack of customer consideration.

Exceptional Guest Service! Perfect location! We recently hosted a company-wide meeting at the Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel, with 18 team members staying on property, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. We recently held a company-wide meeting at the Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel, with 18 attendees staying on property, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The meeting room was spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed, creating an excellent environment for collaboration and productivity. From the very start, Joanna and Shana were a pleasure to work with during the booking and planning process — professional, responsive, and incredibly supportive. Throughout our stay, the service from the hotel team truly stood out. Henry (who assisted with our luggage) was efficient and welcoming, Carlos provided excellent service during lunch, and the breakfast team was consistently friendly and attentive. Saving the best for last — Tammy at the front desk deserves the highest praise. Tammy delivered exceptional guest service at every interaction. Her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail went far beyond expectations. She made our entire group feel genuinely valued and taken care of. A true 20 out of 10 experience. Tammy is an outstanding representative of the Marriott brand. Thank you to the entire Renaissance Times Square team for making our meeting and stay such a success. We would absolutely recommend this property for group events and look forward to returning in the future.
