Parking is bad surprise /emphasis on not being a full service hotel/ wouldn't that be good for a winter stay My stay started bad when I was surprised by $25 a day. I booked on hotwire and it was probably my fault that I didn't catch that they had a parking fee. But the fee itself seems exorbitant based on how there stays in the area. Also, it was clear that they empathize that they are not a full service hotel. Although every other residence end, I have been at It gives you an option for a daily maid service. I asked if this was new and they said its always like that at non full service hotels(?) . Also it seemed like I got different service because I went through a prepaid vendor as i received the comment "since you booked on wikipedia" ( assume he meant hotwire) ... However, I would still rate the stay at 3 as the rooms are nice and with the normal residence inn full kitchen. amenities (even though "it's not a full service hotel") **One oddity, although this was a summer stay, the front desk area where the breakfast is located is disconnected from the rest of the hotel, so you have to walk outside to get to it. Which seems odd for winter stays in Illinois

Airport Shuttle leaves people stranded Do not stay here if you are relying on their airport shuttle service. I chose this hotel primarily because of its shuttle service so I could take it back and forth to the airport to take the subway downtown. Over the three days I stayed at the hotel, the shuttle left people stranded almost every time due to insufficient capacity. It runs between two different hotels and the airport and on one occasion, arrived at the hotel with only 3 seats remaining because it was already nearly full just from those getting on the shuttle from the other hotel. On another occasion, an entire family of five were left stranded while trying to make their flight. I also witnessed an occasion where three men were told they could stand on the shuttle (without seat belts) so as to not miss their international flight. Another family was told they only had space if their children sat on their parent's laps. When I spoke to the hotel staff about the situation, they seemed unconcerned -- telling me the shuttle was run by a third party they had no control over. Other than this huge problem, the hotel was okay at best - nothing exceptional at all.

Unwelcomed guests in my room! We were assigned this room for a hockey tournament April 25th-27th, so it wasn't my choice to stay at this property. Our room was infested with ants, we had to bag up all of our belongings in garbage bags to travel home. When I alerted the hotel staff to the issue they brought me garbage bags and openly admitted that they have ant problems. If you have a choice, stay somewhere else.

Staff are nice, but facility is infested with ants Had to change my room due to the room being infested with ants. Several rooms have ant issues. Many ants on the table during eating breakfast in the lobby. When I got home, I discovered ants had gotten into my luggage. Very uncomfortable and annoying.

Not Like Before We have stayed in residence inns all over the east coast and the midwest for over thirties years because we wanted a spacious place with kitchen facilities when traveling with our kids. the free breakfasts and free parking were another plus. one thanksgiving we cooked a whole turkey before going to our brothers house. over the years, depending on the owner of the franchise, the inns have changed. some have modernized the decor, added internet features such as enhanced desks with multiple usb connections. some took away the full bathtubs in favor of showers only. many decisions were made by corporate, others by the local owner. this rosemont facility doesn't seem to have kept up. the decor is the same from what we saw about 20 years ago and there are obvious signs of age, e.g., the refrigerator door had dents. while the internet is ok, there are no usb plugs. parking now is costly. in the past, the room amenities included table set up wine glasses and napkins. they offered bags of popcorn to cook in the room and bottles of water. all that is gone. times change and the only thing a customer can do is find another choice.
