Cool and relaxing This was a much-needed break. We arrived at the hotel tired and worn out from a wedding in Las Vegas and it was wonderful!. We stayed 3 nights and the suite was comfy, cool, and quiet. The staff was very helpful and Joshua went out of his way to make our stay easier. I will stay here again if we are in the Palmdale area.

Palmdale, CA: Where Desert Plains Meet Aerospace Dreams

Nestled within the Antelope Valley of northern Los Angeles County, Palmdale stands as a proud emblem of California’s high desert heritage. Its sweeping landscapes, framed by the San Gabriel Mountains to the south and the open expanse of the Mojave Desert to the north, have long shaped the city’s character—rugged, resourceful, and forward-looking. Originally a modest settlement along the Southern Pacific Railroad in the late 19th century, Palmdale evolved from a farming outpost into a dynamic hub, where sunshine, wide-open skies, and a pioneering spirit remain woven into the fabric of daily life.

Palmdale’s identity is indelibly tied to its role as a cornerstone of America’s aerospace industry. Known as the “Aerospace Capital of the United States,” the city has been home to groundbreaking aircraft development, from stealth bombers to space exploration vehicles, through its ties to Edwards Air Force Base and major aviation giants. Beyond its industrial prestige, Palmdale offers cultural and recreational richness—its parks, golf courses, and proximity to Angeles National Forest invite exploration, while its steady growth reflects the enduring vision of a community built for both resilience and aspiration.

Stay at Residence Inn Palmdale I stayed at this hotel for around 34 nights. On the whole I would say it is an average hotel. The rooms were fairly sound proof so you didn't hear much in the way of your neighbours activity. The location of this hotel was a bit away from the freeways so the sound level was also better in that regard although the side streets beside the hotel were like a race track for motorcycles and cars at night. The hotel is dated with the carpets needing a good vacuuming and shampooing. The same in the rooms. The room I stayed in needed a fresh coat of paint on the ceiling, it was mottled with a patch job of painting here and there. When housekeeping came to look after the rooms they did a good job however the rooms were not done daily and garbages needed to be put outside the door in the hallway. One week of the 5 I was there housekeeping missed my room and I went for 5 days with no housekeeping. The lights were not on outside the building for the majority of my stay and having worked nights and coming back to the hotel in the dark once I got out of my car was a bit unsettling. I talked to the staff about this and the reply I got was that the lights were on a timer and they would have to get the maintenance person to fix it- which didn't happen. The pictures on the internet are deceiving. There were no cushions on the chairs or couches outside which were uncomfortable to sit in without. Often the little courtyard was dirty with garbages piled high. The pool had a layer of scum on the top which deterred me from going in it. The hotel would get car loads of kids and parents coming in for sports tournaments on the weekends and there was a lot of use of the pool likely contributing to the scum on the top. However I noticed that often the doors to the pool would be open and I sometimes wondered if other people were coming into the pool to use it that were not guests of this hotel (seeing some people leave or come with their bathing suits on and using the pool and then leaving). There was no working air conditioning in the breakfast area or front lobby or hallways and in a year where there was record breaking heat it was very uncomfortable for guests and staff. Apparently the air conditioning was broken but this was not fixed during my stay there. The breakfast area was clean and bright and the one younger staff person working in that area was very kind and friendly and always had a "good morning" greeting and a smile. The older person not so much and in fact a few times was a little short when asked for fruit or such that had run out. There was a decent variety but only once was there ever bread. In most hotels I go to the front office staff are very friendly, greeting you when you went past them, in the mornings and such. I would have to say that almost never happened unless I first said good morning or such first to them. They do have on-site laundry facilities for guests to use for pay, again the room was almost unbearable as no air conditioning. $2.00 for a wash load. The internet said there was a complementary late afternoon get together with complementary wine and snacks. When I inquired about this the staff member said they hadn't done this for 2 years. I did have a spider in my room crawling on my bed when I was in it and when I reported this to the staff they did have someone come to my room a day or two later and sprayed some stuff around the bathroom. For that I was apparently awarded some Marriot points!! Lastly, when I booked the room, and I am from another country so I knew nothing about this hotel, the gal was very friendly and helpful. I received the rate by email, which corresponded to the rate she gave me. I didn't read the fine print on the second page that there would be a $12.00/daily rate to park you car there, nor was I told that when I booked the room. The gal that gave me the rate was there when I checked in and she told me about the daily rate for my car and apologized that she didn't tell me when booking the room , however she said it was in the email she sent me. When I got to my room, I checked and sure enough on the second page in small print it was there. I feel this is a cash grab. I expect that in downtown Boston where there is no available space but not in Palmdale at a hotel where there is a large parking lot. Having said that, I was unable to park on the hotel property 3 nights because of the car loads of people with their kids staying at the hotel on weekend that filled the parking lot- not that I got a refund for those 3 days, even when I advised the manager of that situation. I wonder if this hotel is in financial difficulty or they just don't care about the safety and comfort of their guests: lights not on, carpets not clean, pool not clean, air conditioning not working, charging for parking, no complementary social evening, reduced housekeeping services, no cushions on the outside chairs. I feel some of the staff need a tune-up on caring for guests who are away from family and in a non-familiar place to live until they return home. A smile and greeting go a long way. Pride in the work and in up-keeping the facility should be a priority for a hotel chain this large. I am sorry to be writing a review with so many things that I found to be either unfair or difficult however if anyone from the hotel management reads this and can enact some change than that is good.

Residence Inn Palmdale Lancaster - Very good choice Excellent hotel, good location , quiet zone, friendly and quick service, amazing front desk staff. Close to Home Depot, 5 mins in car from Wallmart, Lowe's, 12 mins in car from Costco, a lot of restaurant around. Best restaurant tested and highly recommended Tokyo Steak, 2106 East Palmdale Blvd. Palmdale. Also Buffalo Wild Wings 40155 10th St W, Palmdale. A place to see absolutely is BlackBird Park museum, a landmark of american aviation. Look around for Joshua Tree which is another iconic landmark of this area. Unique tree, protected specie. Travel from Palmdale to LA by Forest Highway thru LA National Forest Park. Magnific road, shorter and nicer than any highway around. Enjoy the Antelope Valley beauty.

Friendly staff, awful bed & paper thin walls Pro’s Staff was very friendly. Breakfast is usual fare - eggs, omelets, waffles, bagels, fresh orange & apples, etc Con’s: Bed sucks big time. It needs replacement Walls are paper thin We booked a 1-bed king but the bed feels more like a full size. If I were to come back to this area, I would try another hotel option as there are many down the street.
