Amazing Customer Service and Hospitality I first need to say that Jeremy Ritchie at the RESIDENCE INN SEATTLE SOUTH/TUKWILA has the most exceptional Customer Service! I have needed to book workers in the area to assist with the deep freeze and broken pipes, etc. Jeremy has exceeded all expectations of handling paperwork, bookings, and making our employees feel as at home as possible. I am extremely appreciative of Jeremy's assistance, as he has lightened my workload and eased my mind my taking care of our workers! Many thanks!

Downtown Seattle, Washington: Art, Architecture, and Famous Coffee in Coastal Urban Center

Street performances, flowers, and fresh-caught fish find a common home at Seattle’s Pike Place Market. Founded in 1907, it's where both sightseers and locals shop. Drop into the Fish Market to watch the staff tossing salmon, halibut, and cod—a famous tradition. There are plenty of nonperishable goods as well, including jewelry and other crafts. And you might want to take a picture in front of the market’s iconic sign, which now rivals the Space Needle as the city’s most recognizable symbol.

The original Starbucks coffeehouse has operated out of Pike Place since the 1970s. You can stop here for a pick-me-up before taking the half-mile walk to Seattle's Central Library. Whether you love books or architecture or both, this futuristic-looking library is worth a visit. The 11-story glass-and-steel structure consists almost entirely of diamond-shaped windows arranged to look like a geometric net. The otherworldly interior is a playground for book lovers. Be sure to check out the library’s “living room” in the morning, when sunlight creates a kaleidoscopic shadow on the floor.

Try the Courtyard across the street? Don't recommend this aging, poorly maintained Residence Inn. Found two .22 bullets and unknown USB security device left in safe. No soap or shampoo in dispensers. When I advised reception, I was told to worry and that they would be refilled. She didn't understand that they were empty upon my arrival and that was why I mentioned it. Beware next guest.

Not Recommended I would not recommend this hotel. It is outdated and in need of some maintenance. After the first night I took a shower and could not unlock the bathroom door. I literally had to kick a whole through the door to get out. It was a scary feeling. The shower was slow draining as well, so I’d be standing in 1/2 inch to an inch of water when showering. While nothing happened to my car, I was concerned it may get broken into due to the location. I just cannot recommend the hotel. Management will need to put some money into it to make the hotel more attractive.

DO NOT STAY HERE! DO NOT STAY HERE! It is the most disgusting ghetto hotel I have ever stayed in! Our rental car was stolen from the parking lot! I should have known better with the sign that said "we are not responsible for stolen items." No cameras no support no luck for us. They even charged us for parking even though the car was stolen! Marriott should be ashamed to have their name on this property.

Really Liked Everything EXCEPT - ! My husband and I needed a place to stay for Thanksgiving night, as we went for Thursday and Friday to my daughter’s, who lives in Rainier Beach. We live about 22 miles north of Rainier Beach and I don’t like to drive in the dark, so we’ve tried various places close to my daughter’s. We’ve stayed previously at the Hyatt at The Landing, but the cost keeps going up! We tried an airbnb, but my husband, who is visually impaired, did not like it at all. This Residence Inn should have been great! I liked the “suite” - it was like having a little “home away from home”. A total kitchen, the refrigerator was cold; the freezer was frozen. My husband and I prefer to sleep in separate spaces, and he slept on the pull out couch bed. There was good separation of the “living room” area and where the bed was, which I was going to sleep in. We made up the pull out couch bed for my hubby and he jumped in and fell asleep. I got ready for bed and watched a bit of television on the large tv that created a divider between the bed and the “living room” area. I got sleepy and crawled between the sheets of the bed. I was wide awake within a few minutes. The bed was so uncomfortable! The longer I latex there trying to sleep, the worse my body hurt. My lower back and my hips were screaming at me. No matter how I tried to lay, my body was hurting. At home I sleep on memory foam, which keeps all my joints happy and prevents “pressure points”, but I really discovered what those pressure points were in the bed here this night. Finally, at about 1 AM, I checked my phone to see how long it would take us to get home - 33 minutes! No traffic, clear skies and roads! I woke my husband and a decision was made! We were home and I was asleep by 2 AM. I guess we will have to pay the price of the hotel with the better beds for Christmas. I am disappointed; I had really wanted to like the Residence Inn. Maybe because I am older I need a better bed than what was in our room here, but I won’t waste my money again. Take heed.
