Hotel at a Glance: Riptide Hotel

When the Riptide Hotel first opened its doors in 1969, it was right on the sand because Hollywood’s popular 2.5-mile boardwalk hadn’t been built yet. Today, the boardwalk might slightly separate the hotel from the beach, but it’s a fantastic place for biking, mingling, and strolling along as you watch the tide roll in. King rooms get oceanfront views and full kitchens, while double-queen rooms provide easy access to the tiki bar’s lively atmosphere. For a more luxurious feel, choose the suite.

  • Have a cookout a the property’s complimentary guest grills.
  • Hit the beach with a free umbrella or chair from the front desk.
  • Tiki bar: Sip tropical cocktails or frosty beer and enjoy live music; happy hour is Monday–Friday, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Riptide Restaurant: Oceanfront dining with casual fare such as Cubano sandwiches is available daily for lunch and dinner.

Hollywood, Florida: Quiet Coastal Town with Beachfront Boardwalk

Hollywood is situated just a few miles south of Fort Lauderdale and about a half-hour drive north of Miami, but it’s quite a bit more relaxed than both. The town’s beach boardwalk—named one of the country’s best by Travel + Leisure—stretches along the Atlantic Ocean for 2.5 miles, attracting joggers, bicyclists, and shoppers. To get to the boardwalk from downtown, hop aboard the old-timey trolley that makes runs to the beach. Other Hollywood attractions include the Anne Kolb Nature Center, a 1,500-acre wetland where you can kayak through tidal channels or take walking trails through red-mangrove forests.

The tempo picks up in neighboring Fort Lauderdale, a city famous for its beaches and boats. During the day, water taxis cruise the Intracoastal Waterway, offering up-close views of waterfront mansions and anchored yachts. At night, hit up the upscale bars and restaurants on Las Olas Boulevard.

Nice location but that’s it Location on beach But that really is the only thing going for this motel Bathroom door wouldn’t close Wi fi a joke !!!!!!!! I don’t think the bathroom has ever been cleaned Kitchen doors hanging off The sheets on the bed were so very old and bobbling (if u know you know ) I think a bit of money needs to be spent on what could be a great motel but in our opinion has been used and abused and with no maintenance for a very long time

Music beach vibe even the locals come out to enjoy! Enjoyed the daily music and tiki bar, both from our balcony and at a shaded table. With the beach right there, we had no stress and appreciated the beach umbrella and towels. Very casual! The room and bathroom were a little small but with a mini kitchen we had all we needed. I even logged into work on the WiFi.
