As one of the original resorts in this renowned area, it has gracefully preserved the island's traditions while seamlessly integrating modern luxury. Guests are welcomed into a realm where the echoes of Hawaiian royalty resonate, offering an experience that is both timeless and authentically local.

The resort's accommodations are thoughtfully designed to harmonize with the surrounding tropical landscape. From the iconic scalloped balconies of the Lahaina Kai Tower to the secluded beachside bungalows, each space provides a sanctuary of comfort and elegance. The lush gardens, expansive ocean vistas, and direct access to one of Maui’s most celebrated beaches invite guests to immerse themselves in the island's beauty, fostering moments of connection and rejuvenation.

Lahaina, HI: Legacy of the Pacific Kingdom

Once the royal capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom, Lahaina stands as a living testament to Hawaii’s storied past and maritime heritage. This historic town on the island of Maui was once the seat of power for King Kamehameha I and a thriving center for 19th-century whaling, attracting sailors from around the world. Strolling along Front Street, one encounters remnants of its regal lineage and missionary influences—from the preserved Lahaina Banyan Court, whose massive roots span nearly an acre, to the old Lahaina Courthouse and Baldwin Home Museum. Lahaina's deep connection to native Hawaiian culture and Western exploration is inscribed in every coral-stone wall, harbor jetty, and century-old chapel.

Beyond its historical gravitas, Lahaina radiates the charm of a coastal haven with its art galleries, eateries, and breathtaking sunsets over the Pacific. Once a hub of international commerce, it now serves as a portal to Maui’s natural splendor and island spirit, welcoming travelers seeking both reflection and adventure. The town's proximity to marine sanctuaries, surf breaks, and neighboring islands like Lanai and Molokai adds to its enduring allure. Though recent events have tested its resilience, the soul of Lahaina endures—rooted in its proud past and steadfast in its promise of renewal.

Awesome Place to Stay Stacey C. checked us in and she went more than the extra mile getting us into the perfect bungalow. Everyone has been so helpful and the accommodations were perfect. I would definitely recommend 100 %. Right on the beach. Great for swimming and snorkeling. Relaxing n the evening by one of the pools or listening to the nightly music made for a wonderful end to each day.

A wonderful Tropical Paradisee Exceptional hospitality. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Dining was excellent, always fresh and delicious in their restaurant. I would definitely recommend a visit here. This is ideal for the entire family, although I made it a girls' trip. You are walking distance to the beach, and there's a pathway that connects all the major hotels and resorts, golf course, and shopping area. There is also a trolley if you prefer to ride along the strip.

Will come back to Royal Lahaina Definitely The best resort on Kaanapali area ❤️ we stayed at the bungalows and it was amazing. Room was cozy and had all the amenities needed. Resort itself a has the best location, and it’s a walking distance from whalers village - a famous spot for shopping on Kaanapali.

Beautiful Location, But Service Needs Improvement Beautiful Location, But Service Needs Improvement We recently stayed at the Royal Lahaina and were taken in by its stunning waterfront location and beautiful views. The walk path along the beach to the other parts of Kaanapali was especially lovely, and the ocean itself was absolutely breathtaking. Our room was older but charming, with a gorgeous ocean view. The doormen were particularly friendly and helpful, which added a nice touch to our stay. However, the service, especially around the cabana rental and noise management, left a lot to be desired. On our final day, we rented a cabana for the afternoon, as our flight wasn’t until 10:45 PM. From our balcony, I could see that the cabana we had reserved was not in use, so I asked if we could access it a couple of hours early. Unfortunately, we were told we couldn’t because the restaurant staff would be upset with the cabana staff—even though the cabana was clearly unoccupied. We were advised to return in an hour to check again. Rather than argue, we went for lunch and returned around 1 PM. At that point, we were told the cabana was ready, but there were still a pair of shoes on it, and it didn’t appear to have been properly prepped. In other luxury hotels, staff typically prepare a cabana with rolled towels and a welcome drink, especially for the price of $125 USD (which is quite steep in Canadian dollars). When our drinks were eventually delivered, the server casually asked if we had rented the cabana. I said yes, and she didn’t verify with any list—just took my word for it. It all felt a bit unprofessional and disorganized. To top things off, on our last night there was a very loud party by the fireplace near the pool. The music was so loud it disrupted our evening. I called the front desk and was told that other guests had also complained, and that security would shut it down. Why it took guest complaints to prompt action is beyond me. Overall, Royal Lahaina has so much potential with its prime location and natural beauty, but the service and attention to detail need serious improvement to match the expectations of guests paying premium prices.

Charming Hotel Very pretty hotel, pool area is beautiful and plenty of room for sun bathing. Stacey C at the front desk was a delight and helped us with our room. Pros: Great locations, beach is sandy and beautifully clear and low density Pool area has lots of seating Comfortable beds and attractive room Cons: Cabanas cannot be used and are available for an additional rental Bathroom set up was odd. No sink in the bathroom, the sink was in the kitchenette area, as a woman it made it difficult to do makeup or wash my face since there was no mirror I could use. Hopefully all the rooms are not like this Overall I enjoyed our stay and would probably stay again
