Check-in was easy and staff was friendly. The room was basic but perfect for what we needed. Everything was clean, and we loved that there was no carpet. Beds and pillows were super comfy. Parking was ample, and we were able to back right up to our door. From the rooms, you can walk right to the park or shuttle to the other side of the park. Heads up-no ice machine-they sell bags at front.

Texas Hill Country: Pastoral Landscape of Ranches and Rivers

A picturesque region of rolling hills and valleys covered in bluebonnets in spring, the area of central Texas known as Texas Hill Country has been compared to the landscape of Tuscany by the New York Times. Texas Hill Country is a backyard playground for nearby cities, as it lies just west of Austin and northwest of San Antonio. Urbanites often escape here for the weekend to enjoy the slower pace and beat the heat—the region's slightly higher elevation means it's often less humid. With many state parks and spring-fed rivers, the Hill Country is also a haven for outdoorsy types; activities range from fishing and tubing to rock climbing. The Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is popular thanks to its main attraction: a gigantic pink-granite dome in the middle of the park.

One of Our Top Vacation Spots My family of 5 took this trip the week of June 23rd. Lines were not terribly long, maybe 15 minutes for the popular rides like Raging River (the drop into the Comal river was open). The Falls was closed because they were/are waiting on a part, and they now require EVERYONE wear a life jacket in the wave river at the east park, so we didn't venture to that side very much. I get the lifejacket rule, some people make bad choices and ruin it for the rest of us. It's just not the same. We have stayed at the Resort at Schlitterbahn several times. If you are planning a trip, I highly recommend staying at the resort. Most lodging options are immediately adjacent to the park if not inside the park, and options range from a hotel style room to the luxury suites at the Treetops. We always stay in a suite with a kitchen to avoid paying park food prices. Example: check isn't until 4pm, so the first day we got lunch at the park. It was $100 for 4 chicken sandwiches (me and hubs share) and a refillable tumbler. The walk to/from your room to the side park entrance is fewer than 5 minutes. The staff is always friendly and helpful, check-in is a breeze, and even when the park is busy it never feels crowded. The resort lodging area is quiet in the evenings even when you stay near the pool. They have outdoor family friendly movies and smores in the group area every evening.

Stay at the Marriott or Holiday Inn…. This place is a waste of money Kinda convenient???…but not really. I wish I had stayed at a proper hotel. We spent more than 800$/night to get a 2 bedroom suite. It is comparable to a terrible air bnb. The refrigerator isn’t working. The AC has only one setting (freezing) the beds are worse than an air mattress, and it’s not walking distance to any part of the resort or its amenities! All of the furnishings are old and look like an afterthought. This place is really a disappointment!

Bad experience Location and room size only thing nice about this place. A/C sucks not cool enough. Check-in is awful! Had to call customer service 3 times just to get room. This is a little lodge with 12 rooms with only 6 parking spots. Will never stay here again.
