Myrtle Beach, South Carolina: Sandy Beaches, Golf Courses, and Classic Amusement-Park Rides

Myrtle Beach is the crown jewel of South Carolina's Grand Strand, a 60-mile stretch of white-sand beaches along the Atlantic seaboard that draws surfers, fishers, and kayakers. The city was named one of the best vacation spots in the United States for a family by USA Today, in part because of its wooden boardwalk, which stretches for more than a mile. Hop into the SkyWheel’s gondolas, lit up at night, for a panoramic view of the city below from this iconic observation wheel.

Less than 20 miles south of Myrtle Beach, the tiny fishing village of Murrells Inlet provides a tranquil contrast to the boardwalk's hustle and bustle. At Brookgreen Gardens, more than 2,000 sculptures stand amid sprawling floral gardens and massive, moss-covered oak trees that have been around for centuries. Murrells Inlet is also home to the Tom Fazio–designed TPC Myrtle Beach golf course, 1 of nearly 80 courses in the area that helped Myrtle Beach earn its title as the seaside golf capital of the world.

Total Relaxation _ RM 1617 was in very good condition. After reading a few reviews, I knew that I needed to check our room before bringing in luggage. Very satisfied!

Family oriented! We really enjoyed staying at the resort. Check-in was simple. There is plenty of luggage cards to unload. There was good parking for unloading so the process was made easier. Our room was very clean. It was a nice size with plenty of room for us and our infant son. We had a beautiful view of the ocean. It was quiet, which made it great for our infant son to sleep at night and nap during the day. The hotel grounds and pools were kept very clean and pretty service at the tiki bar and Captain Cove restaurant was wonderful. Staff was very nice and attentive. The food was great. The drinks were great.

Sea Watch "The Birds" Centrally located resort on the beach. Close to shopping, dining, entertainment and golf experiences. Overall, our recent stay in the North Tower on the PH (20th floor NOT OUR CHOICE) was just okay. I would not want to be on the top floor during peak season as the wait for an elevator could take up most of your day. Unit was recently updated. So they say. The furniture was like sitting on concrete, not comfortable at all. Especially when you return from a long day of golf and/or beach time and just want to relax before going to sleep. The balconies were covered in bird sh*t. There is a serious bird problem and they are not seagulls as one would think for being located on the beach, but black birds. They sh*t on the outside chairs and all over the railings making it unenjoyable. Newer appliances were nice. Hardwood, ceramic flooring is never washed. There were crumbs on the floor and I used a damp paper towel to clean it up and it came up BLACK. I cleaned a larger area than just the crumbs and it was disgusting how black the paper towel had turned. I would not recommend walking in your bare feet. The beach is nice with the exception of the "Birdman of Sea Watch". A man comes onto the beach at approximately 3:30-4 o'clock every day and the pigeons, brown headed cowbirds and blackbirds descend from the skies, flock around him and wait for him to feed them. It's funny at first until the birds sh*t all over your umbrella and chairs. There should be a law against feeding the birds.
