Myrtle Beach, South Carolina: Sandy Beaches, Golf Courses, and Classic Amusement-Park Rides

Myrtle Beach is the crown jewel of South Carolina's Grand Strand, a 60-mile stretch of white-sand beaches along the Atlantic seaboard that draws surfers, fishers, and kayakers. The city was named one of the best vacation spots in the United States for a family by USA Today, in part because of its wooden boardwalk, which stretches for more than a mile. Hop into the SkyWheel’s gondolas, lit up at night, for a panoramic view of the city below from this iconic observation wheel.

Less than 20 miles south of Myrtle Beach, the tiny fishing village of Murrells Inlet provides a tranquil contrast to the boardwalk's hustle and bustle. At Brookgreen Gardens, more than 2,000 sculptures stand amid sprawling floral gardens and massive, moss-covered oak trees that have been around for centuries. Murrells Inlet is also home to the Tom Fazio–designed TPC Myrtle Beach golf course, 1 of nearly 80 courses in the area that helped Myrtle Beach earn its title as the seaside golf capital of the world.

Great time Mark was awesome at the front desk. The staff was always friendly all the time and security was great. “Smiley” at the gate always waved entering/exiting. He was awsome. The pools were well taken care of and great temperature. Also great beach access and life guard on duty.

Seawatch Resort 1 Bedroom 17th Floor - Wonderful Experience This was our first time staying at Seawatch Resort, as we usually stay at Beachcove Resort, and we found that overall we like this resort better. We stayed in the North Tower in Room 1707. This is a direct oceanfront 1 Bedroom condo. It has a Murphy Bed and Pull Out Sofa in the living room that overlooks the pool and ocean and 2 double beds in the bedroom. One bathroom with a blow dryer and shampoo, conditioner, soap that is located in the hall/kitchen area between the bedroom and living room. There are doors that you can close to block off kitchen/bath area, which is nice for dressing. I would recommend putting a flat mirror on the wall in this area to help with fixing makeup and hair, while others shower. The kitchen was stocked, probably the best I've seen. It has a full size stove/oven, full size refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher (Note: Beachcove does not have an oven or dishwasher in their 1 bedroom condos). There was a coffee maker with a pot and keurig part, toaster, blender, crock pot, and a great assortment of pots and pans! The front desk will supply you with coffee upon request as well as towels and other amenities that you might need. It has spectacular views of the ocean, beach, and many pools from the 17th floor. The resort has 2 indoor pools, 2 indoor hot tubs, 6 outdoor pools, 9 outdoor hot tubs, 2 lazy rivers, ocean front restaurant, Tiki Bar at pool, Starbucks and Ice Cream store, fire pit, kids playground, game room, and fitness center. The resort is gated and the parking and wifi is free and much better than Beachcove.

May 2025 Visit The room we had was nice, there was a small issue that was quickly cleared up. The view was amazing, the one bedroom condo was nice for 2 people. More than that would be very crowded. My only complaint is that the beds were not comfortable. You could feel the springs and it was hard. Mark at the front desk is great and helps over and above what is asked. The Captains Cove makes the best omelet's and the chef that makes them is so sweet.
