The Fine Print states •Date cannot be changed once booked, but 48-hour cancellation notice required prior to check-in or reservation is non-refundable. Is the cancellation with the Hotel itself or cancellation with Groupon? If cancellation with hotel, will the hotel notify you of the cancellation for me to get the refund, or should I notify Groupon of the cancellation to get the refund after I cancel with the Hotel?

After you purchase you'll be able to cancel your reservation for a full refund as long as you do so at least 48 hours prior to your check-in time. Once canceled your reservation can not be rescheduled. When you cancel your stay through Groupon, you'll be officially canceling with the hotel as well.
