Niagara Falls, New York: Spectacular Waterfalls at United States–Canada Border

Every second, hundreds of thousands of gallons of water cascade down Niagara Falls. You can watch the water spill over jagged cliffs from pedestrian bridges and observation decks. The best view, though, might be from the Hurricane Deck, a wooden platform located 20 feet from Bridal Veil Falls. From spring to fall, you can access the platform by taking the Cave of the Winds tour, during which professional guides lead poncho-clad visitors to Bridal Veil Falls via wooden pathways. For an up-close encounter with the falls, you can book a ride aboard the Maid of the Mist; the tour boat shuttled sightseeing guests to the base of the thundering Horseshoe Falls for more than 100 years and continues to operate on the American side of the falls.

Millions of tourists have flocked to Niagara Falls since the early 1800s. Around that time, Napoleon Bonaparte’s younger brother honeymooned in the area with his American bride; scores of newlyweds followed in their footsteps, earning Niagara Falls the nickname of “Honeymoon Capital of the World.” But it's not just romantics that flock to the border town; it's also a family-friendly destination, thanks to its indoor water parks, an aquarium, arcades, and casinos for the 21-and-older crowd. For outdoorsy types, the 400-acre Niagara Falls State Park offers miles of hiking trails.

I don’t recommend I am currently staying at your hotel, and I wanted to express my disappointment with several aspects of my experience so far. For the first two nights of my stay, I was unable to get proper rest due to loud noise from children in the room across from mine. They were screaming late into the night, which made sleeping extremely difficult. I understand that families travel with children, but the noise levels were excessive and not adequately addressed by hotel staff. To make matters worse, at 7:00 AM this morning, I was again disturbed—this time by loud laughter and conversations from workers in the hallway outside my room. Being woken up this early by staff noise is unacceptable and shows a lack of consideration for guests’ comfort and rest. Considering the disturbances and the overall lack of peace, I feel the pricing of this hotel is not justified by the quality of the experience. For the rate being charged, I expected a much more restful and professionally managed environment.

Walking distance to the Falls I gave it a 5 for location, comfortable bed and pillows, cleanliness, and hospitality. Walk to the Falls and great restaurants. Plus they have an in house Starbucks that serves a variety of breakfast items. Right across the street from the convention center. I would stay there again.

Very good! The hotel’s location was ideal for access to all attractions. It’s facilities were also very good. Having Starbucks in the lobby was a great asset as well and allowed us to enjoy a morning coffee prior to a busy day of sightseeing. There were plenty of places to eat in close proximity too.
