Niagara Falls, New York: Spectacular Waterfalls at United States–Canada Border

Every second, hundreds of thousands of gallons of water cascade down Niagara Falls. You can watch the water spill over jagged cliffs from pedestrian bridges and observation decks. The best view, though, might be from the Hurricane Deck, a wooden platform located 20 feet from Bridal Veil Falls. From spring to fall, you can access the platform by taking the Cave of the Winds tour, during which professional guides lead poncho-clad visitors to Bridal Veil Falls via wooden pathways. For an up-close encounter with the falls, you can book a ride aboard the Maid of the Mist; the tour boat shuttled sightseeing guests to the base of the thundering Horseshoe Falls for more than 100 years and continues to operate on the American side of the falls.

Millions of tourists have flocked to Niagara Falls since the early 1800s. Around that time, Napoleon Bonaparte’s younger brother honeymooned in the area with his American bride; scores of newlyweds followed in their footsteps, earning Niagara Falls the nickname of “Honeymoon Capital of the World.” But it's not just romantics that flock to the border town; it's also a family-friendly destination, thanks to its indoor water parks, an aquarium, arcades, and casinos for the 21-and-older crowd. For outdoorsy types, the 400-acre Niagara Falls State Park offers miles of hiking trails.

Revisiting the Falls We stayed in a beautiful refurbished room, it still looked new! Bathroom had a very hand walk in shower with an adjustable rain shower head as well as a hand held wand. The modern vanity lighting was incorporated into the mirror, counter tops seemed to be quartz and the bath room door was a modern metal version of a barn door with soft close feature. The 6th floor lounge was one of the nicest we have used. All staff were very helpful and everything was cleaned and well taken care of. The hotel is very conveniently located to all entertainment venues and transportation surrounding the falls.

Nice but aging Hotel is dated but staff and location are really great! it was walking distance to all the Falls attractions. Hotel was clean but carpets in the hallways were old. Fitness facility had 1/2 the treadmills and ellipticals inoperable. Club lounge staff were great both Sunday and Monday morning! A great stay but the hotel and fitness center need updating.

experience We love this area as there are so many things to see. The staff at the hotel are generally friendly and helpful. On September 23, Kristian and Kenneth were 2 evening desk clerks that were super friendly and helpful to us, with suggestions for activities that we have not done. Mostly with a local flair versus "touristy". Very nice young gentlemen. I must say that the hotel itself is in need of some upgrades. On floors 2 and 3, the same black tape has been over the seams of the carpet pieces, for the past three years. Ironing boards and desk chars need updates. The ironing board cover was so old , the elastic crumbled in pieces all over the floor and my clothes. It was broken and I had to hold it up with my foot while ironing in order to keep it from falling over and to complete my ironing. The outlets in the bathroom kept shutting off. I had to get maintenance to come and reset it as my efforts failed. There was a or an evening gathering after the meeting, consisting of mostly males, happening on 2 days during my stay. Wednesday & Thursday evenings, they consumed lots of alcohol. They were in and out of the meeting spaces in the hotel with their partying. The noise level in the lobby and my floor was very loud and continued on the floor level into the late evening. My coworker did register a complaint on Wednesday evening. We had a hotel catered dinner on Friday evening. The food at best was warm, which included the desserts. Warm cheesecake it not good. Before the meal started , there was an abundance of servers. They seemed to disappear as we began to get our food from the food line. We weren't offered coffee until it w time for dessert nor was our water/tea refilled during the meal. Not the most pleasant meal/experience I have ever had.
