Oklahoma City: Former Frontier City with Modern Museums

Oklahoma City is both the capital and the largest city in the state, and it’s chock-full of contemporary museums, modern art displays, and vibrant neighborhoods. Head to the historical Bricktown district to stroll along a picturesque riverwalk past eateries and shops, all housed in the traditional red-brick buildings that gave the area its name.

You’ll also find several niche museums to check out, such as the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum and the Museum of Osteology, which bills itself as “America’s First Skeleton Museum.” Here, you can see hundreds of skulls and skeletons of various animals, including primates, reptiles, and a 40-foot whale.

We were in okc to attend a Thunder game - the Sheraton is only a block north of the Chesapeake arena - great location. The room was a little dated - limited electrical outlets for all of our phones and tablets but clean and comfortable

Great Location and Room - Sad Lounge Great Location and Room, walking distance to breakfast and dinner spots. I was there for work and it was just smooth, I've stayed here twice and will return again. The Sheraton Lounge wasn't much at all, granola bars and two kinds of cereal for breakfast. I wouldn't call that a Lounge for Bonvoy members.

3rd party booking nightmare-bad customer service My family and I stayed at the Sheraton June 2025. First impression is that the hallway to our room smelled of marijuana. The room it's self was basic and accommodated our family. Our kids enjoyed the pool. As for customer service provided by the front desk, specifically Nathan, I was less than impressed. We reserved through a 3rd party (booking.com). I have never had a problem in the past and have been using this to book for years. We travel about 6 times a year. With the 2 separate reservations we had both ran into problems with payment. We are still fighting with both places to get our over 900 dollar payment back as this was in addition to what was already paid. Nathan advised me to call booking and talk over me endlessly as I was expressing frustration for my experience as a whole. Booking.com said they spoke to the hotel and it was a hold on my account and was returned, but then took the money out 2 days later. And when I called stated it was booking's issue. I will NEVER stay here again. I would advise others who are trying to afford a stay for the family and using 3rd party booking to avoid The Sheraton at all cost. It's not worth it.

Super expensive declining property that was loud as hell This is clearly a property in decline. It has location but nothing else to offer. From beginning to end this was a disappointing experience: - the UPDATED room was disappointing with a tiny bathroom, terrible bedding and pillows, bedside tables that lacked usb plugs and PAPER thin walls. - We were woken up 3 to 4 times a night due to teens screaming and partying in nearby rooms. Calls to the front desk did not resolve the issue. Apologies from staff do not equate to good service. Solving the problem (which they didn’t) is the key. - Even the parking was super tight - especially if you have an suv or are there when the Thunder are playing (good luck finding a spot) Plenty of other far less expensive hotels in the area that have the basics done well. Go there instead of here.
