Family Getaway at 4-Star Sheraton with Niagara Falls Views
Niagara Falls crashes onto craggy rocks across the river from the Sheraton On The Falls, the latest in a series of hotels occupying this one-of-a-kind riverside property. Nineteenth-century visitors could have stayed at the luxurious Clifton House, which housed Confederate soldiers stationed in Canada during the American Civil War. The Clifton eventually went up in flames, but Sheraton acquired the land and opened its own hotel on the site in 1966. A renovation in 2000 updated and expanded the hotel to its current height of 22 stories, but its biggest draw remains the unparalleled waterfall views guests have enjoyed for nearly two centuries.
This deal includes a nice family getaway package, with four optional passes to Fallsview Indoor Waterpark, which has 16 water slides spread out over three acres. In addition, kids can enjoy mini golf, interactive rides at Adventure City, and eat free at Fallsview Restaurant, on the dining level of the hotel. Fallsview Restaurant features a buffet and live actions stations, while other dining options include Hard Rock Cafe, Planet Hollywood, and Rainforest Cafe, where purchasers receive a free volcano dessert at lunch. To further satisfy sweet tooths, customers can visit the 7,000-square-foot Hershey’s Chocolate World Niagara Falls, the only store of its kind in Canada, which offers decadent treats and exclusive merchandise.
Niagara Falls, Ontario: Panoramic Views of the Falls near Vegas-Style Casinos and Water Parks
At Niagara Falls—considered by many to be one of the world’s seven natural wonders—water thunders downward from a height of nearly 200 feet, crashing onto craggy boulders below. The falls straddle the border between Canada and the United States, with segments located in both New York and Ontario, but the Canadian side of the Niagara River is universally hailed as the finest vantage point to take in all three of Niagara Falls' photogenic brinks: American, Bridal Veil, and Horseshoe Falls. Year-round, Journey Behind the Falls grants a glimpse behind the curtain of Horseshoe Falls—board an elevator that descends 150 feet into the bedrock, then stand at an observation deck steps away from the cascading water.
