Great place, great price Super cute remodeled hotel. I’ve lived in Big Bear for 17 years and remember the old establishment. They did a good job updating. Room was clean, spacious, smelled good and the AC was a plus. Plenty of towels, hand soaps, shower products etc. You have a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and blow dryer. They have some snacks you can purchase and drinks, not bad priced if in a hurry and it worked out perfect for snacks for my kid on the go! The front desk clerk was a very nice gentleman who had me checked in super quick. The hotel is older but worth the great price and stay!

BIG BEAR LAKE, CA: Crown Jewel of the San Bernardino Highlands

A Mountain Lake Town Shaped by Timber, Trade, and Tourism Cradled within the San Bernardino Mountains, Big Bear Lake rose to prominence during Southern California’s gold rush era, when rugged trails carried prospectors, loggers, and settlers into its high-country basin. Over time, the settlement evolved into a thriving alpine retreat, preserving the hardy spirit of its pioneers while embracing a legacy of hospitality and outdoor recreation. Today, the lake remains the town’s enduring centerpiece—its broad, reflective waters framed by pine forests that speak to centuries of natural resilience and human endeavor.

Where Alpine Adventure Meets Village Charm Modern Big Bear Lake balances wilderness with refinement, offering world-class skiing and snowboarding in winter, and boating, hiking, and lakeside leisure through the warmer months. The walkable Village anchors the community with locally owned shops, dining, and seasonal festivals that celebrate mountain culture and craftsmanship. With its blend of historic roots, scenic grandeur, and year-round vitality, Big Bear Lake stands as a distinguished mountain destination that honors its past while inviting travelers to write their own chapters of adventure.

Lipstick on a Pig This is an old hotel that was renovated on a budget & reopened as a new one. We chose it specifically for the location & AC. After checking in, our room didn’t have power or AC for several hours so we were roasting with a small baby while they figured it out. Turns out it was a widespread issue with the breakers as the building just couldn’t handle the mid 80s temps. There was zero compassion for our situation & no compensation was offered. The bathrooms are also very old & unpleasant + accessed by walking through a closet. Pool is not available for guest use as they don’t have a permit for it. Oh & no elevator which is super fun when you have a room on the second floor.

Cute, modern hotel near big bear village! The stay was great! The room was very clean and modern, the bed and room were large, we loved that there was AC, and the location and distance to the village was unbeatable! All for a great price! We will definitely be recommending to others and coming to stay ourselves!

Will Definitely Stay Again I loved this hotel! The rooms are very spacious, and everything is modern and clean. The vibe was just great. I love the small details and how they decorated. There is a shuffleboard, coffee, and a water refilling station in the lobby. I would definitely stay again. The location was perfect for walking to the main streets in the village.

Cool little hip hotel in Big Bear I’ve stayed here twice when traveling up to Big Bear solo riding at the bike park. It’s a cool little hotel close to all the bars and restaurants in the village. I love that I can walk to grab a burger from this hotel. The rooms have a cool and hip decor that I really like. I don’t always need an Airbnb. When I book a hotel, I like if there’s something unique about the place. That’s Sierra Blue. It’s an old motel that they upgraded with cool vibes. It still has the original character from when the building was constructed probably decades ago. My only request is they find some plusher pillows, down alternative or something along those lines. The pillows are standard fare flat pillows. Whatever. I like this place.
