Snow King Resort Hotel

For lovers of the outdoors, it’s hard to beat the Snow King Resort Hotel. The renovated property sits at the edge of the Bridger-Teton National Forest and at the base of Snow King Mountain Resort, which offers skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the summer. And since the hotel is located in the historic town of Jackson, two of America’s most popular national parks—Grand Teton and Yellowstone—are only a short drive away.

  • Contemporary western ambianceGuest rooms are spacious and stylish, with traditional touches like lodgepole pine furnishings and vintage photos. All of them have views of the outdoor scenery, too.
  • Outdoor adventures: An onsite rental shop offers skis, snowboards, and mountain bikes, depending on the season. A free shuttle will take you to the slopes during the winter.
  • Rest weary muscles after a day in the mountains in the hotel’s seasonal outdoor heated pool or year-round hot tub. There’s also a spa onsite.
  • Elevated campsite fare is served at Haydens Post Kitchen & Bar, where you can try bison chili or trout almandine.

Jackson, Wyoming: Wildlife and World-Class Skiing in the Old West

Jackson may be the only place on Earth where you might see a rodeo cowboy, rock climber, and Hollywood starlet on the same block. The former frontier outpost draws visitors of all stripes for its special blend of Old West flavor and jaw-dropping natural beauty. Old-fashioned saloons and high-end galleries line the town square, but a few miles north in Grand Teton National Park, you’ll find nothing but wilderness.

Though summer and winter are Jackson’s high seasons, you’ll encounter lighter crowds in spring and spectacular foliage in the fall. As the snows begin to melt in May, the rivers swell and fill with rapids. There are about a dozen rafting outfitters in Jackson that run whitewater trips on the Snake River and scenic floats on a calmer stretch upstream.

Rooms and air filters need to be dusted. Staff very friendly, but had a lot of check in issues and check out issues. Check in was partially Groupon's fault. Amenities and location were great though (you do pay an extra $30 for that) Overall ok for the price.

Best Place to stay in Jackson There are so many good things to mention about the recent stay we had at the Snow King Resort. The location of this hotel is so convenient. The hotel is literally at the base of Snow King mountain so you can truly ski in ski out. Fourth floor on south wing is the best for ski in ski out. You can be back in your room literally in under a minute from being on the slopes. It’s about a 10 minute walk to downtown Jackson. There’s also a bus that literally stops directly outside the hotel. I took it several times twice to the Albertson’s and once to the rental car office. The food at Hayden‘s Post is fantastic. Everything we ate there was good, especially the Sriracha chicken wings. The bartenders are very good at navigating that busy time during aptès ski. No matter how busy they were, they would always put a water down in front of you and ask you what you wanted to drink. They make very good cocktails. The hotel has a shuttle bus, it picked me up at the airport. Marcus, the driver was very knowledgeable and welcoming. The shuttle also will take you to Teton Village in the morning and pick you up and bring you back to the hotel in the evening. I think you have to make a reservation for that. The concierges seem to be around all the time and are very knowledgeable about the area. They helped us plan a few activities and were just so willing to bounce ideas back and forth to help us make good decisions on activities. Also, the birds! They hide these glass birds around the hotel and we must have asked about them 4 times and they always helped us with info on where they might be hidden. We found one! The kids LOVED this. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and responsive. Heather, the manager was extremely responsive to me when I had a minor issue with housekeeping. I merely wrote her a quick email and the issue was resolved quickly. The hot tub was so warm and welcoming after a long day skiing, just make sure you time it right and don’t go when a bunch of kids are in there!! It’s so large there were plenty of times I saw it empty. It’s so simple to rent the skis and boots on property, the guys who work in there are very helpful and quick. This is my 3rd spring break in a row and I am already planning on coming back next March.

Great location mediocre service I was really excited to score such a great deal for a ski in ski out. Well, now I know why…if you are looking for adequate, or just okay, this is the place. You are charged a little over $100 for the shuttle service. Where the website says “based upon space and availability,” there should be a disclaimer. There is a schedule every hour to the airport and vice versa. However, it books up really fast because a max of about 14 people can ride in the small van. They simply don’t have the capacity to support all of the skiers that fly in every day. The shuttle to Teton Village is a total of 4 times a day. Two times in the morning and the shuttle leaves Teton two times in the afternoon. If you are not able to make any of the shuttles, you will need to pay for your own transportation. All shuttles were booked and we never got to utilize the Teton shuttle because skiers needed that space. I will respect that and not take a seat a skier could use. The pool was closed for the entire time. We asked the front desk every day and their answer varied from, “we don’t know, it should be open” to “oh I think they are doing maintenance.” Never once was there anyone working on it the entire time. Don’t worry about gratuity. Even the breakfast buffet charges 20% and your serve yourself. The first day the wait staff didn’t bring waters. I walked over to get my bill and pay right there. A bit of a scam to pay 20% for…what? Room service does come. That is not the issue. I didn’t use the do not disturb lanyard because I wasn’t worried about anyone coming into my room. Check out is 11:00AM. So while my husband and I were getting dressed and showering the cleaning service came into the room, it was 9:55AM. When asked how my stay was the automatic reply was basically “sorry you feel this way thanks for responding.” In other words it was a very nonchalant response. The best part of this hotel, leaning it. We would leave and ski so that was really nice. I suppose in Jackson, WY they are used to people not caring how they spend their money. I was thinking. A 2 but paying for services I never used, not being able to use the pool, the extra fees added onto the bill that were never advertised from the website. It is sad Mia-management of what could be a better place.

Snow King Resort Review Our stay at Snow King was amazing. The resort is perfect for a family trip. The room was clean, spacious, and had a great view. The restaurant was delicious and there’s even a game room. They have complementary hot chocolate afternoons and family movies. Everyone there is friendly and helpful. We loved it!
