Another Snowbird Visit to Remember This year’s visit to Snowbird was our 11th and the charm, serenity, and beauty of the mountains are unfailing. After a bit of a learning curve, Indigo seems to have hit its stride in resuming or surpassing the former hospitality. This year there is a new innkeeper and lots of new, welcoming and more sophisticated staff. We felt quite pampered and the chef produced some unusual and delicious offerings. From our little cabin we enjoy unparalleled views of the mountains and enjoyed swimming in nearby Santeetlah Lake. Snowbird remains our special place.

Don't listen to the old-timers After reading a number of negative recent reviews, all by people who had gone to the lodge many years ago, I was nervous about going here with my spouse for our anniversary. I can't say how things were when those other reviewers visited, but the place was wonderful for us. The accommodations were good (not super fancy but the bed and pillows were very comfortable and we really enjoyed having a private two person hot tub). The food was great! Service was very good, and it was just gorgeous and relaxing up there in the mountains with amazing views. We went on a hike in the nearby national forest and took the lodge's paddle boards out on Lake Santeetlah. We barely saw any other people or even structures on the lake! All around, it was just what we were looking for, a relaxing getaway with lots of nature and adventure options.

Sorry, Indigo, you can do better. We totally agree with Martha's review from July 2024 since we, too, had been there many times since 2000. No flowers in the room, cookies tasted more like those at supermarkets, no real attention from the desk (say hello when guests come for breakfast?), no special scented soaps, no different dinner menus from night to night was very disappointing, stayed in a very small room when there were bigger, same price rooms in main lodge and were not occupied at all, room was not tended to during two day stay, no cute privacy hangar, no gift shop anymore with Snowbird coffee cups or notable blankets, etc. Only three employees made any effort to be outgoing but they also were covering for the lack of other employees and were overworked. Indigo, I am sure you are making more because room rates are 30% higher but whoever decided to stop the little psychic gifts and special treatment the family used to do needs to move on.
