Expectations Exceeded. I arrived at Sonesta later in the evening after searching for a location that met my primary goals of being safe, proximity of the stores and services immediately surrouning it, and customer service of the staff because it always carries over into the cleanliness of the facility. The young lady working the desk (Shae) was very helpful and made my check-in process a breeze, she provided me her best reccomendations and infomration on the food locations immediately around the location, offered my options on floor of my choice for my room selection and even provided me information on the events within the city that night and the rest of the weekend, she alone made staying here feel safe and like home which refreshing and a comfort when travelling alone as I was. The beds were super comfortable and the oversized lounging couch that folds out into a sofa-bed gave me an in-suite feel though it was just a standard hotel room. The locations is right next to the interstate and in great proximity to the major attractions (world of coke, aquarium, NFL/MLS stadium and more) thank you Shae and Sonesta for a great stay!

Atlanta, Georgia: Urban Parks and Renowned Aquarium in Capital of the South

Named 1 of 50 Places of a Lifetime by National Geographic, Atlanta lies near the Chattahoochee River in Georgia’s northwest region known for its famed trees: magnolias, pines, and dogwoods. Despite a metropolitan population of more than five million and what is considered the world’s busiest airport by passenger count, Atlanta seems to always offer a relaxing escape. Stroll through the 185 acres of botanical gardens, hiking trails, and oaks at Piedmont Park, or study one of the country’s largest Civil War exhibitions at the Atlanta History Center.

Anchored by historical Peachtree Street, the city’s midtown area boasts a thriving arts-and-culture scene. Opened in 1929, the Fox Theatre features imposing Egyptian architecture and a custom-made organ with a network of 3,622 pipes. Tours take place on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. The High Museum of Art spotlights more than 12,000 pieces of contemporary and folk art, ranging from Renaissance paintings to photographs from the civil-rights era. Kids might better enjoy the Georgia Aquarium, located downtown at Centennial Olympic Park. One of the world’s largest aquariums with more than 8 million gallons of fresh and marine water and more than 100,000 animals, the aquarium is home to beluga whales, lionfish, whale sharks, bottlenose dolphins, and more.

Surprise charges The hotel charged me for something after I left. Be careful. I travel around the world, and this is the first time in my life I've been charged for something I didn't use. It's terrible to receive an unexpected charge on your credit card a month later. Awful. Be aware.

Stay somewhere else If you don't mind mildew, cobwebs, nasty carpet, dirty room, barely working a/c, nasty nasty nasty smell, wornout pretty much everything, no open bar for coffee/food as advertised, no working swimming pool as advertised, no amenities such as a coffee maker/shower gel/luggage rack, and best of all, an insulting jerk of a manager, then this is the hotel for you. The only reason this place got two stars was because every OTHER employee was super kind and helpful. Not a bad location for midtown but needs new management and a fresh renovation and a good de-mildewing.

Good location, decent hotel This hotel was fine. Not great, not bad, just fine. We were barely there, to be honest - we just slept there and were out and about all day. Location was fine, it was clean enough, beds were comfortable. There is a nice outdoor space that unfortunately we were not able to take advantage of (combo of schedule and some rainy weather).I'd stay there again if we were visiting Atlanta again. As far as I can tell, however, you really can't walk anywhere from there, it's on a very busy street/intersection.

The worst experience The worst experience! I was not informed about the parking that should be paid, I was not informed that on holidays don’t have breakfast, the frigobar ( mini freezer) was not working, the ice machine in the 5th floor was not working! No sheets for the bed couch, my husband went in the reception to ask for!!! And don’t have microwave inside the unit!!! My daughter woke up during the night and I had to go downstairs to use it! Terrible!!!! I don’t recommend!!!! Frustrating! Bad communication!!!! Is beautiful but the service is bad bad bad!!!! When we arrived was almost 10pm that’s why we decided to stay, we were very tired but if not, the best thing was look for another place.
