Located just a mile from Houghton Lake is Springbrook Inn, which rests on 5 acres populated by pine trees, deer, porcupines, and foxes. With a year-round tiki bar and a gorgeous natural setting, the inn makes for a peaceful spot to get away from urban drudgery for a few nights.
- Where you’ll stay: Each individually decorated guest room has a gas fireplace and a king-size bed.
- Romantic extras: If it’s a couple’s getaway, call ahead to add in-room flowers, chocolate-dipped strawberries, or a bottle of champagne (additional fees).
- Grab a drink at the inn’s on-site tiki bar, The Frog, which is only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and it frequently hosts trivia nights on Thursdays.
