Hilltop Resort with Views of New Hampshire’s Lakes Region
A warm, sunlit pool always looks inviting, but that’s especially true when New Hampshire’s mountains serve as the backdrop. In the middle of a hardwood forest, Steele Hill Resorts houses a steamy glass-atrium pool area. Many of Steele Hill’s rooms, suites, and townhouses provide exquisite views of the Belknap Mountain Range and Lake Winnisquam. One of the resort’s one-bedroom suites has a private balcony overlooking the water and peaks. Each room is slightly different, but many include balconies or patios. Two-bedroom west townhouses are good for large families or groups—each offers two bathrooms, a living room with a sleeper sofa, and plenty of space.
You’ll find numerous things to do on the property, starting with dinner at The Hilltop Restaurant. There, chicken saltimbocca and bison burgers are served amid views of the New Hampshire countryside. Elsewhere, you can explore the resort’s 5 miles of trails. Children can bring their own toboggans to whiz down the sledding hill, or play the Xbox Kinect in the main building’s lobby. Offsite adventures can be found within a 20-minute drive at Gunstock Mountain Resort and less than 60 minutes’ drive at Loon Mountain, Waterville Valley, and Ragged Mountain Resorts.
New Hampshire’s Lakes Region: Outdoor Activities amid the White Mountains
Located north of Concord and Manchester and south of the White Mountain National Forest, New Hampshire’s Lakes Region attracts hikers, bikers, and local wildlife, including foxes, moose, and deer. In the spring, summer, and fall, golf, hiking, and fishing are the big draws. Steele Hill Resorts accommodates anglers with a private pond suited for catch-and-release fishing.
