Amazing! Wish we could stay longer! Booked this hotel last minute due to a change in circumstances with our previous hotel in Studio City. The receptionist was helpful when we checked in, offering us a pool facing room. The hotel takes a $50 p/night deposit, and charges $15 p/night parking fee. The studio style room is spacious, decorated tastefully in a modern style and is extremely clean. The room has a coffee machine, microwave and fridge; dining area, corner sofa and large king size bed with large TV. The private bathroom is spacious with large walk-in shower with rainwater shower, fresh fluffy towels and toiletries. There is onsite laundry room available (I believe this is $4), with free ice also available. The pool is accessible from 9am - 9pm with free towels and loungers available. The fitness suite is accessible 24-hrs. We wish we had found this hotel sooner, and is approx. 20 minutes drive away from Universal Studios. We would definitely consider coming back to this hotel if we ever come back and visit the USA again in the future.

Just 30 minutes from downtown LA and 20 minutes from Malibu, this boutique hotel offers easy access to hiking trails, beaches, and scenic canyons. Walk to The Commons for boutique shopping and outdoor dining.

Hotel staff was nice, but patrons and people staying at the hotel were disruptive. Pretty bad experience. When I first checked in they gave me a handicap room, I’m not handicapped. Then there was major disturbance from the room above at 2AM playing loud music and women screaming. Then another patron was yelling and cursing out people at that work at the hotel which I could hear from my room. The people that work there were fine, but it was just not a great environment. I thought it would be classy being in Calabasas, but that wasn’t the case.

SOMEONE UNKNOWN ENTERED OUR ROOM AT MIDNIGHT! We checked in late at night and went straight to the room. Within not even 5 minutes of us being there, we hear a key card beep and someone opened our door. Luckily the top lock was on and that seemed to deter them because they left immediately. When we called the front desk to let them know what just happened, they said “that shouldn’t happen” um obviously? The only thing they offered was to deactivate all key cards and issue us a new one. No compensation was offered, no offer to look into who it could’ve been, no offer to check cameras, etc. We were very uneasy the whole night. Do not recommend if you have children (which we did) or if you’re a lone woman. Terrible experience.

Fine but needs improvement First, I’d like to highlight the positives: The location was excellent and very convenient for our needs. Our room was impressively spacious and comfortable. The staff we interacted with were generally friendly and welcoming. However, there were a few concerns I feel should be addressed: We attempted to contact the front desk several times on the day of arrival regarding our late check-in, but no one answered the phone. It either rang or went straight to “on hold” with music. We had to call the reservations department to get assistance. Upon arrival, the front desk directed us to take the stairs through a poorly lit area. Unfortunately, my wife missed a step and fell, which could have resulted in serious injury. These issues can be resolved with improved communication and better attention to guest safety. We otherwise appreciated our stay and hope to see improvements on our next visit

Old structure and a noisy room for unreasonable prices. The Anza Hotel was a Country Inn & Suites in the past and it still feels like that old hotel. The walls are thin, so the noise carries. The ceilings /floors are similarly unsubstantial and old so they creak and a neighbor walking above will feel like they are just about to crash through the roof. Every pipe being used, every A/C being turned on nearby, every toilet flush or bathroom use will make you feel like an a floor of a 19th century factory. And then there is this periodic 5-6 second fan or a pump turning on and off (and on and off...and on and off whole night and day). For the price paid, this place is totally not worth it, unless you have no other choice. Earplugs helped marginally. Morning delivery truck and its beeping easily overpowered any effort to sleep after a restless noisy night in this haunted barn. Breakfast not included. Parking still free... Swimming pool cold (no hot tub). We felt safe on this property and were welcome at the reception. Nothing wrong with that. We appreciate the new owners' effort to redecorate the place but it fails to cover over the overall impression of a sinking ship. Sadly, this one was a mistake and we will not be back. Look elsewhere (unless for Halloween maybe).
