Park Slope, Brooklyn: Trendsetting Neighborhood Home to Top-Rated Restaurants and Prospect Park

Park Slope was named the best place to live in New York City by New York magazine in 2010, and it’s not hard to see why. Its leafy streets are lined with charming brownstones as well as scores of top-rated restaurants and trendsetting boutiques. Located in west Brooklyn, Park Slope has been attracting privileged city dwellers since the late 19th century, when Victorian mansions began sprouting up in an area dubbed the Gold Coast. In recent years, the neighborhood has become an enclave for artistic types and hip young families.

But Park Slope’s main attraction is still Prospect Park. In fact, the neighborhood takes its name from its location on the western slope of this 585-acre landscaping masterpiece. Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux in the 1860s, the park includes an intricate watercourse and the last of Brooklyn’s indigenous forests. Crowds gather here during the summer for free concerts and farmers’ markets; ice-skating and sledding are popular activities in the winter.

Horrible! AC wasn’t working and the walls were covered in dust over the bed ,the room was way to small for it not to be cleaner, there was also juice on the small table from the last person who stayed in that room, would never recommend this hotel.

If you purchase a Groupon deal for the Baltic Hotel in Brooklyn be fair warned that this is a scam! I purchased my stay April 2-3 for a concert at the Barclays Center. I purchased the deluxe queen room, I even called several day prior to my stay to confirm my room and I was all set. Upon arrival the manager at check-in did not mention to me I was being given a only a queen room, I arrived at my room to find out it was not what I paid for, and that the bathroom did not toilet paper and two small towels! When I went to the front desk there was a different employee a Latina who was very helpful and explained the hotel was overbooked and apologized and document why I was upset. At check out there was another different Latina employee also very helpful also documented and stated a manager would be in touch with me on Monday, April 4th. Groupon I contacted them and they offered me Groupon buck even tho it was documented that I did not get what I paid for and that the shower was trickling water not enough to actually get a shower! I did not paid for my stay with Groupon buck and the Baltic Hotel management has yet to contact me and it is now April 19th and no contact. Every time I call the Baltic Hotel Im told management team will reach out and nothing. Then I was told oh since it’s a 3rd party purchase they can’t do anything. Yet Groupon and the Baltic Hotel have a partnership to screw their customers who are minorities! Im sure if I was a white male this would not be an issue and I would get the partial refund I I am deserving of for not getting what a customer paid for. The Baltic Hotel has had more than enough time to get this figured out, and instead they decided to make a my experience even worse. I hope that people will reconsider planning on stay at the Baltic Hotel or using Groupon as they both are aware and yet ignore a customer that paid for a service and decided to ignore and state there’s nothing they can do. I promise you that staying at the Baltic will only ruin your experience in Brooklyn, NY. Two weeks was more then enough time given to fix this issue before I rated their services. I will make sure that everyone hears how awful Groupon and the Baltic Hotel are.

Bed was soft, comfy. shower was amazing, good view. Customer service is good needs the night shift workers on the same energy as morning shift. Other than that everything was amazing will be going back close to home enough time to take my daughter to school nd come back for a nap.

Service was horrible! The front desk unattended majority of time. Asked for towels they didn’t have any clean ones for a whole day and the cleaning staff was understaffed it was one house keeper but she was really good. Honestly she was the best part of the stay.
