Minneapolis: The City of Lakes and Flourishing Culture

Nestled along the banks of the mighty Mississippi River, Minneapolis boasts a rich tapestry of natural beauty, cultural vibrancy, and historical significance. Known as the "City of Lakes," its landscape is adorned with over 20 pristine lakes, the lush greenery of Minnehaha Park, and the serene trails of the Chain of Lakes. These urban oases provide an idyllic backdrop for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Minneapolis is also renowned for its innovative spirit, having earned its place as a hub for commerce and industry, particularly during the flour milling boom of the late 19th century that earned it the title of “Mill City.”

Culturally, Minneapolis thrives as a beacon of arts and diversity. The iconic Guthrie Theater, with its striking architecture, and the Minneapolis Institute of Art showcase world-class performances and collections that celebrate both global heritage and local creativity. The city’s vibrant neighborhoods, such as Uptown and Northeast, pulsate with eclectic eateries, craft breweries, and bustling farmer’s markets. Mid We couldn’t get into the building to check in, it’s great that it’s a secure building but there was no communication regarding check in and the host was on the phone for an extended period, then proceeded to complain about the customer on the phone for 30 minutes while checking us in. Additionally the room was much smaller than cheaper lower star hotels I’ve been to, and the heater didn’t work and there were no extra blankets. I will say the shower was awesome!

AVOID Don't book here! I booked with cancellation allowed and my plans changed. No way to cancel ... they say send email but don't reply. The only phone number is disconnected or something else is wrong (just goes to rapid busy signal). Maybe they are closed? Notice that all good reviews are "sponsored" (i.e., not worth anything) and all reviews that aren't sponsored are terrible. AVOID.

Rude hospitality Today I was extremely disappointed with my experience at the Chambers hotel. Despite receiving booking a reservation that included a daily parking quote, I arrived to find that there was no parking available at the hotel, which was essential for my stay. The staff offered to relocate me to a different hotel that supposedly had parking. However, upon arrival at the new location, the staff were extremely unhelpful and refused to acknowledge the reservation that the Chambers hotel supposedly made on my behalf leaving me with no place to stay. Returning to the original hotel for assistance, I was informed that they had already canceled my reservation and could not help me further in a kurt manner.  It seemed that this decision came from the General Manager, Nicole Dutton, as she was involved in instructing the staff throughout this ordeal. This left me feeling intentionally neglected and stranded, forcing me to book another hotel at the last minute, resulting in significantly higher costs. Additionally, I found the behavior of the front desk associates, Brittany Williams and Neela Yang, to be particularly unwelcoming and unfriendly throughout this horrible experience. Their attitude was unprofessional for front desk staff, and I noticed Brittany Williams being flippant with another guest asking for simple directions. This was the weirdest experience with hospitality in my life. No accountability and no resolution. Overall, the lack of communication, organization, and professionalism from the staff, combined with the actions with Nicole Dutton involvement, was unacceptable and caused a great deal of frustration.

Above 5 Star Excellenc There is not enough space to share how ELATED and happy we are with this hotel. From the General Manager's kind regard in assisting us with our reservations. She was extremely efficient, detailed and even followed up. The hotel was exceptionally neat and clean, I mean white-glove test clean. All the staff was kind, pleasant disposition, helpful and friendly. The room, oh the room was super clean. Everything was properly placed, not even a hair was to be found when we first walked in. This hotel is among THE ABSOLUTE BEST hotels I've stayed in, ever, and I've stayed in 'high-end' 5 Star 'rated', hotesl, etc...But this one, to me, FAR exceeds them because of the management (Nichole - General Manager), staff and the neatness and cleanliness. Also, GREAT location for people watching from our room. Lots was happening the weekend we were there so we could look out the window and people gaze. Quite fun.

Overbooked and undernotified. To say the customer service is poor would be a compliment. This nightmare of a hotel attempted to take the difference between the cost of their rooms and transfer us to another hotel because they double-booked. They kept us on hold for over an hour in order for us to finally get the full refund, which initially was not going to be happening because they believed sending us to another hotel and charging us the same cost was a solution to their problem. This is a nightmare scenario, we just arrived from out of state and they had the gall to treat us like it was AMEX Travels fault, when they overbooked and attempted to pass the buck. If you are traveling out of town, be weary of this hotel.
