Traveler's Tips

Important Information Before You Book We want to make sure you have a smooth and enjoyable stay—please take a moment to review a few important notes to help set expectations:

  • Elevator Wait Times: Due to the historic nature of the building, elevator service may be slower during peak times. We recommend allowing extra time when planning outings or check-out. High floors may experience longer wait times.
  • Security & Access: For your safety, elevators require key card access. Stairwell access is limited to emergency use only.
  • Room Size & Features: Rooms have a vintage layout and charm, which means some may be smaller than modern hotels. Please note: some “double” beds may be full-size, not queen. Room features include a coffee maker, small TV, and safe.
  • Deposit Policy: A $100 refundable deposit is required at check-in via credit card. This will be returned upon checkout, assuming no incidental charges.
  • Parking: Self-parking is available for $25, and valet service at The Claridge is available for $35 (credit card only). Lost parking tickets will incur a fee.
  • Pool & Amenities: Access to the pool and arcade are included, but availability may be affected by maintenance, staffing, or seasonal demand. Please call ahead to confirm access during your stay.

DO NOT STAY HERE DO NOT STAY HERE! We visited this hotel on a bus trip with soul nation for the Monica and Brandy tour. It is a very old worn down hotel. The carpet is old and it stinks! We had roaches in our room and dining area. Our bed had feces or blood on the sheets at check in and all they did was change the sheets! No sanitizing or anything. How you make a bed up completely with bodily fluid visible on the bed. We requested another room but was told they were sold out so we checked into Casesar’s which cost us more money! The food (included in the trip) was cold and nasty so we ate outside the hotel. We had to wait 15-20 minutes for the elevator or walk up or down 14 flights. Some of the staff starting with the front desk was rude as well as other staff. One of my guests had some guys from another room constantly knocking or the adjoining door asking them to open up and have some fun. Made them very uncomfortable and had to call the front desk but no one came to check it out so they put a chair to the door for safety. The hot water took forever to get hot, we had to hold the hand for the toilet to flush, the toilet seat was old and was peeling. The best part of the trip was the Monica and Brandy concert and the alcoholic drinks that was included in our package because with our experience, we needed it! The juice and coffee was bitter and watered down. This was a waste of time and money, our first and last visit to this raggedy smelling roach hotel! I do not recommend this place at all and some of the staff sucks!

Do not stay here Stayed over last night and while the room was clean, it was dated. The bigger issues was the service. Saturday at 5 pm, there were only 2 people checking guests in, and we ended up waiting over a half an hour. Male desk agent wasn't friendly, but we could see the woman agent was. The bigger issue was that on Saturday, only 3 of the 5 elevators were working. Everyone was complaining, and it took almost 20 minutes to get an elevator up to our room. Took 10 to get one down when we went for dinner, and when we checked out Sunday, only 1 elevator was working. Took another 20 minutes to get down to leave. Don't understand how the management can operate a hotel with almost 500 rooms with so few elevators. Totally unacceptable, and we won't stay there again.

Never again! Our son booked the Claridge for my wife and me as a birthday gift for my wife. I wish that my son had read the reviews first! The hotel is in dire need of a renovation and our room was awful. The toilet did not flush, one of the light bulbs in the bathroom flickered like something from a horror movie. The window was filthy and the room smelled musty. The ice machine on our floor was out of order and the wait for the elevators ( to get down to the lobby to use the restroom- because our toilet wouldn’t flush!) was painful. We asked the front desk several times to send someone from maintenance to fix the toilet. The maintenance person showed up at 11:30 PM, when we were sleeping, and fixed the toilet “temporarily “. It flushed once and then ran all night and wouldn’t flush again. I spoke to a manager on the phone who told me that she would look into our claim about the toilet and call me back. I’m still waiting for her return phone call….. Never again……
