Traveler's Tips

Important Information Before You Book We want to make sure you have a smooth and enjoyable stay—please take a moment to review a few important notes to help set expectations:

  • Elevator Wait Times: Due to the historic nature of the building, elevator service may be slower during peak times. We recommend allowing extra time when planning outings or check-out. High floors may experience longer wait times.

  • Room Size & Features: Rooms have a vintage layout and charm, which means some may be smaller than modern hotels. Please note: some “double” beds may be full-size, not queen. Room features include a coffee maker, small TV, and safe.
  • Deposit Policy: A $100 refundable deposit is required at check-in via credit card. This will be returned upon checkout, assuming no incidental charges.
  • Parking: Self-parking is available for $25, and valet service at The Claridge is available for $35 (credit card only). Lost parking tickets will incur a fee.

Disappointed The building is beautiful, the condition is deplorable. Mold in shower, lights not working, leaking tub spigot. Buckets of cigarette butts outside 2nd floor garage entrance. Expensive parking when other hotels in the area are free. Overall a hotel in need of work!!

Don't stay here! We g for Kane brown concert - at 415 on Saturday, one person at front desk checking people in long line - room was nice view, dusty, ceiling paint peeling in multiple places and water stains - on 930 in morning found out shower didn't work. Called and said they could send engineering within the hour. No thanks we had to leave at 10:30 - when we went to check out no manager available, took name didn't get to us till Monday afternoon - while at from desk woman said are you in room 1016? We were. She said that was the room I was in Tuesday. I had to switch bc if shower. SO they knew shower was broken, put us there anyway. She was there to report toilet now broken in new room - garage recommended by hotel with big claridge guest sign was disgustingly dirty (socks, garbage) and at 1045 homeless people sleeping in two stairwells. Only good thing? Location! Pick another wish we'd listened to the awful reviews - they're legit!

Think twice before staying here. Good grief. This place is awful. I'm not sure where to start and whether I have the energy to go into detail about everything, but steer clear if you can. I'm sure that in its heyday, it was a place of relative luxury. Not anymore! It is grungy, unkempt, and poorly maintained. There are a few bright lights among the staff, but the folks working there generally appeared lackluster and disinterested. I will say that the pool was well-maintained and cleaned every morning (I could see the gentleman taking care of it when I was working out in the fitness room). The fitness room itself contained a handful of machines and sets of weights. However, there were no cleaning supplies to wipe down things after use. The machines were also very poorly maintained. Both ellipticals made loud thumping noises and the pedal straps for the stationary bikes are torn and slap against the base of the bike when you pedal. The room isn't bad, but the hallway stinks of marijuana (there's a dispensary in the hotel). They give you only 2 towels, and be sure to give at least 45 minutes for them to bring you more. No, apparently you can't just go to the front desk to ask for them, they have to call housekeeping and send them up with them. The AC stops working when there is no movement in the room, so we never were able to get the temp down to a comfortable level. The whole area just looked dilapidated. The hotel is surrounded by a number of boarded up buildings and large, empty lots. On the first evening of our 3-night stay, we followed the advice of the front desk staff and headed away from the beach to find food. Big mistake. Aside from an occasional taqueria, which was closed at 7 pm, we found only an array of liquor stores, small convenience stores with metal grills, and a bus station. We ended up getting in our car and heading out of town for dinner and to a grocery store. Which brings me to the next thing - parking. You have to pay something like $17 per parking per night, which is ridiculous. Especially since the parking garage reeks of urine and one part marijuana. If you're coming to Atlantic City and considering the Claridge, I would look around for other options. We paid around $185-210 per night to stay here, and I do not think it is close to worth that.
