The Darby Field Inn is located in an extremely beautiful and peaceful spot. The accommodations were great (our room even had a private balcony, with small table and two chairs, and a view of mountains in the distance), the included breakfast fantastic. It is just off the Kancamagus Highway, with easy access to hiking trails, but also close to North Conway. One can enjoy "both worlds", so to speak.

Converted from an 1826 farmhouse, this romantic B&B offers fine dining and beautiful views of the White Mountains

White Mountains, New Hampshire: Soaring Peaks Surrounded by Historical New England Towns

There are 48 peaks that rise more than 4,000 feet in the White Mountains National Forest, making them New England’s tallest mountains. The 6,288-foot summit of Mount Washington is the tallest in the entire Northeast; from the top, you can get amazing views of New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, and, on especially clear days, Canada. To get to the top, you can either attempt the challenging hike up or take a scenic drive along the Mount Washington Auto Road. For a less daunting climb, there’s Crawford Notch State Park, where you can hike the Mount Willard trail. It climbs 3.9 miles to a summit with gorgeous vistas. Some ski resorts also make their home in the park, including the popular Wildcat Mountain near Mount Washington.

A handful of small historical towns dot the surrounding lowlands, and they all serve as excellent gateways to rugged adventure in the national forest. Many became popular vacation spots during the railroad era, when Bostonians and New Yorkers flocked here to exchange stifling city streets for mountain air.

Amazing Stay at the Darby Field Inn!! My husband and I had heard great things about the Darby Field Inn and been planning to visit for some time, we only regret that we hadn't started coming here sooner! Everything was just perfect during our 3 nights here in May and this is where we will stay when we visit the area again! Marc and Maria are wonderful hosts and we enjoyed talking to both of them, as well as the staff at the inn. Marc shared some great recommendations for short hikes and beautiful waterfalls, although hiking right in the area of the inn is also an option. The food was absolutely delicious, which included breakfasts and two dinners. Marc's culinary skills are unsurpassed ... my husband and I agreed that the duck was the best we've ever had! And the mountain view from the dining room is beautiful. Our room was very comfortable with a nice sitting area with a fireplace a great view of the mountains, and a two person jacuzzi. It's worth mentioning that they also followed current guidelines related to covid. Most people when we stayed had been vaccinated but were mindful of masks and reasonable distancing in public areas. We hope to visit again this year for a relaxing visit to this warm, wonderful Inn. Thank you Marc and Maria! Janice and John

very pleasant and Quiet Stay We arrived just in time for our dinner, our corner room was facing one of the Moat mountains and there was a lite breeze from the west. The room did not have a TV which I liked and we did watch an online movie with the complementary Wi-Fi which had no buffering issues. The dinner was very good with the starter being the Shrimp wrapped in bacon served in a bourbon glaze. The Darby Salad was huge and amazing, both main courses had large serving and were cook prefect and tasted even better. for a shared desert we had the brownie sundae to finish an excellent dinner.

Awesome place to stay We stayed at the Darby Field Inn only for one night because we were passing through New Hampshire and exploring the scenery, which was the best place to stay! The views were unbelievable, Mark and his lovely wife, I am sorry, her name escapes me, and their daughter were wonderful! They made us a perfect breakfast, showed us the best places to go for the views and food. We will definity return when we get a chance and stay longer.
