Hospitality extraordinaire. My mom and I stayed 4 nights at The Gallivant during our stay in NYC. The location was perfect! It is a block away from the action on Time Square and a short 15 minute walk to Central Park ( a MUST see!). The elevators at the time of our visit were a little slower than desired but the hotel was actively working on getting them fixed and running efficiently. HUGE shout out to the hotel manager Jose Flores who went above and beyond to help my mom with her luggage when the elevators were slow. Suny, the lovely soul who works at the front desk, well, I would have put her in my pocket and taken her home with me. She is an absolute gem!! Very helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. She made our trip even more special. Thank you ❤️

Blending historic charm with contemporary convenience, this hotel is more than just a place to sleep—it’s a gateway to the very best of New York City.

New York City, NY: The Ever-Beating Heart of American Ambition

Few cities command the world’s imagination quite like New York City—a metropolis that rises from the edge of the Atlantic as a towering emblem of resilience, reinvention, and raw energy. Home to over eight million people and the birthplace of countless cultural revolutions, NYC is a patchwork of distinct boroughs unified by an unyielding spirit. From the granite canyons of Manhattan to the creative pulse of Brooklyn and the storied enclaves of the Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island, the city remains an unrivaled theater of dreams where every street corner hums with history, and every skyline silhouette evokes global admiration.

At once a financial powerhouse, artistic crucible, and political epicenter, New York City’s influence spans continents. It is where Broadway sets the stage for world-class theater, Wall Street dictates the tempo of markets, and the Statue of Liberty greets seekers of a better life with timeless grace. Its past is etched into landmarks like Ellis Island and the Empire State Building, while its future is written daily in the innovation hubs of Silicon Alley and the academic halls of Columbia and NYU. In New York, every block tells a story—and every story, no matter how improbable, finds a place to unfold.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!! We booked a deluxe King room and on arrival after a 10 hour journey we were told that they had over booked and ended up putting us in a tiny box room where the bathroom was so small you couldn't even close the door! Horrendous experience - and they have still not even refunded us for their error. It's dirty, no shower gel, dusty, wait time for lift approx 20-30 mins

Outstanding hospitality Great experience staying here. Perfect location, walking distance to all you need to see in the city. Suny Rosado at the front desk is the most kind, helpful lady I've ever met. Her hospitality, charm, and what she has to say made staying here something to remember for sure.

Do not stay at this hotel! If it were possible to give a ZERO, then I definitely would. We booked a series of rooms for a group of performers preparing for a performance in New York. The composer decided upon seeing the rooms that they were simply too terrible to stay. After speaking with the hotel personnel named Alfrie, we were guaranteed that our booking through Expedia would be refunded. After three conversations with Expedia and calls made directly to the manager and accounting office, we were informed that our $7,000 payment would not be refunded. Fist holes in the walls and filthy rooms and they refuse to refund. WTH?? DO NOT BOOK HERE. It'll be interesting to see if the further loss to their miserable reputation is worth their shady business practices, Stayed at the Belvedere which is less expensive and way better. Going to report them to the Better Business Bureau.

Make sure the elevators are working Only one elevator really worked the whole time I was there. They told me first that one elevator was fixed and they were just waiting for it to be inspected, but it had been months. Then the next day the woman told me at the desk that they were working on the elevators, which didn’t seem to make sense since the other gentleman had told me it was fixed . Didn’t understand the inconsistency. I tried to get back later in the evening so that the rush for the elevator wasn’t so bad so that worked OK but the morning was ridiculous .10 to 15 minute wait as I was on the 10th floor. A couple of times I just walked down the stairs, but I wouldn’t wanna have to do that coming up. I have stayed at this hotel before and it’s been acceptable but because of this experience, I would be highly hesitant if not, absolutely decided against staying at this hotel again.
