Stay at the Gates Hotel Our stay at Gates hotel was good. Below are the highlights: The hotel is around a 1.5 mile from South beach. There are good food options nearby like Taco Taco, Cafe Americano etc. All are 10 mins away by foot from hotel. The hotel has a good pool to hang around. They charge $200 over your room expense which includes getting towels and chairs at beach. To access that, please go to south beach through 21st street and look for Sign BB. There you can show your towel card which u will get during check-in.

Dishonest Billing and Poor Security Shortly after my stay, I was shocked to find a smoking fee added to my bill — despite the fact that I did NOT smoke in the room at any time. What’s worse, this charge was not mentioned during my checkout. I reviewed and confirmed the total with the front desk, and everything seemed in order. Hours later, when I requested a copy of my receipt, the fee had suddenly appeared. This is simply unacceptable and feels like a dishonest and sneaky post-checkout charge. I immediately sent an email to the hotel disputing the charge and explaining the situation — but received no response at all. I find it extremely disrespectful that no one took the time to acknowledge or investigate my complaint. Beyond this outrageous fee, the hotel lacks basic security and maintenance. My room had cabinets that wouldn’t close, and even worse, the door had no internal lock or latch, making me feel unsafe during the entire stay. For a hotel that claims to offer comfort and peace of mind, this is absolutely unacceptable. It is deeply frustrating to be wrongly charged, ignored when raising the issue, and subjected to such poor conditions. I absolutely do not recommend staying here. The combination of poor communication, lack of transparency, weak security, and questionable billing practices makes for a terrible experience. Avoid this hotel if you value your peace of mind and safety.

Stay Away!!!!!!! Stay away!!! We were three couples with five children spending five days in Miami. When you arrive at the hotel, the first impression is good. The lobby is modern and has a very pleasant smell, but then the nightmare begins!!! The rooms are dated, not at all like the pictures you can see online. There is mold in several parts of the bedroom, and the toilet is dated and poorly cleaned, and maintained. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. The sheets on the bed were dirty with old stains, and after the first night, all the people from the group in the three bedrooms were bitten all over by the bed bugs!!! The elevator is a pain, you´re better off using the stairs!!! There is an outdoor space with a swimming pool, which was dirty, with a very strong, unpleasant smell of sewage coming from the water. The children love a swimming pool, but they went in and out straight away and never wanted to go back again!! We paid for the breakfast and it is absolutely ridiculous!!! There is a limited menu, and from the menu you can only choose 2 options ( eggs and pancakes) for the entire duration of your stay!!! All the common areas of the hotel, apart from the reception, are old, moldy, dirty, and smelly. The location is poor, there are many better options just across the street, very noisy and ugly surroundings. There are some beach beds from the hotel that are as good as the hotel (horrible), not enough for the number of people in the hotel, dirty, and really uncomfortable!!! And to finish the nightmare, be aware that at this hotel, they are not serious and honest and will try to rip you off in several ways!!! They charge for water bottles that you do not use, they invoice you at the checkout, you pay, and after 2 days, they charge you a smoking fee on your credit card, for which you were not told or invoiced, after 17 days you still don´t get a receipt but the worse part is that all the people on the group upon check in asked for non smocking rooms as no one smokes, We never smoke in our lifes, further more with children in bedroons were the windows don´t even open!!! To find out why there was an extra charge on my credit card, I had to email the hotel and got a reply after 2 days. When I complained about this charge and explained that this was completely impossible, there was no further response to my email. Clearly a scam to rip you off once we are away!!!

Miami Music Week — fun stay Excellent experience for both myself and the friends I came with. Very convenient location at the heart of South Beach, fantastic rooms with vibey views, very cleanly, and an of course importantly an awesome staff! Would definitely recomment and go back again. 10/10

BEST TIME!! We had the best time here with our group! The Hospitality, staff, food and drinks plus the location is all prime! We came here with our group and could have not imagined a better place to stay during Miami Music week. Special thanks to the GM Jordan! We will definitely be back here! 5 stars!
