Simply the best experience I could have asked for. We originally booked a super shady hotel for the night and found this Groupon last minute due to how scary the other was. We told the front desk at the LA grand our experience with the other hotel we booked, and how horrible it was, and they upgraded us to a jr. suite to ensure our LA trip was amazing :) it made our 5 year anniversary a success!

The Los Angeles skyline twinkles around you as you swim in this boutique hotel’s pool or look out your room’s floor-to-ceiling windows

Downtown Los Angeles: Shopping, Restaurants, and Museums in the Heart of the City

Stroll past the skyscrapers of downtown Los Angeles and you’ll see gleaming modern architecture, neon pagodas, and maybe even a celebrity or two. This 65-block district is incredibly diverse; its easy-to-navigate street grid is divided into multiple quarters, each of which enjoys a distinct cultural identity. In Little Tokyo, you can visit bakeries, shops, and restaurants reflecting the residents’ Japanese-American heritage. The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA is also here; it houses a vast collection of abstract-expressionist, minimalist, pop, and conceptual work by the likes of Jackson Pollock, Robert Rauschenberg, and Mark Rothko.

The dining and nightlife scene mirrors the area’s diversity. You can find nearly any kind of food here, from Peruvian to Vietnamese to Persian. An opulent option is The Edison, an upscale bar built into a century-old power plant. Nearby, you can visit some of the city’s most popular entertainment venues, including the L.A. Live, which features 6 performance spaces, 19 restaurants, a cineplex, and the Grammy Museum. The Staples Center is right next door; depending on the season, you can watch the Lakers, Clippers, or Kings in action.

Staying around the homeless. It’s a nice hotel but there is all kinds of shady activity. It feels like homeless people are being housed there. There is a fenced off area that is full of bicycles and bicycle parts. People outside playing music and milling around. It’s a very strange scene.

Perfect place for business and pleasure I recommend this place highly because of its convenient location, amazing service and staff, and wonderful rooms. I delivered a presentation at this location and would love to return some day to enjoy it outside of business.

Birthday visit We always visit our son for his birthday in November. He lives in the LA area and we usually stay at an airport hotel. This time we decided to try downtown. We found the LA Grand in Trip Advisor and thought we’d give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised by the whole experience: from the lobby, the restaurant, the fabulous room, the service, and most importantly, the location! We found several fun bars, the library, restaurants, and shops within an easy walk. We are looking forward to coming back and can’t wait until next November. Hopefully the world will be back to a better place then. I really hope all the hotel employees are doing ok.
