Cordillera was awesome! A big beautiful hotel at the top of a mountain with killer houses (also available for rent) the whole drive up. The service was great despite it being the obvious off-season with people in training and so on. They lit fires for us, accommodated to all our needs and overall gave my boyfriend and I a wonderful experience for our Colorado splurge. Try their pomegranate Margarita and eat as much food as possible, everything was AMAZING! Thanks for a killer experience, we will be back!

Panoramic Mountain Vistas at Alpine Resort

The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera sits at the crest of a hill overlooking Vail Valley in the White River National Forest. The stately resort calls to mind a chateau in the Alps, both in its dormered architecture and its Old World warmth and opulence.

The property is ideally situated for enjoying the area’s world-renowned mountain recreation—the ski slopes of Beaver Creek and Vail are both less than 20 miles away. Guests will have free access to The Cordillera Beaver Creek Ski Club, which offers a complimentary shuttle to Beaver Creek Ski Resort (reservations required). Guests will also have free access to the Vail Gondola Club (normally $40).

For dining, the lodge’s award-winning restaurants include Mirador, which serves up delectable local specialties such as Colorado lamb. With this Groupon, you’ll get a daily $20 credit for use at any onsite dining venue. At the resort’s spa (closed for appointments only on Mondays and Tuesdays), you can indulge in luxurious treatments such as the Backcountry pedicure, which includes an aloe-vera wrap and a calf massage.

Vail, Colorado: Mountain Playground in the Heart of the Rockies

Set amid towering pines and snowcapped peaks, Vail stands at the center of Colorado’s mountain recreation scene. About 5 miles east of the hotel, White River National Forest is crisscrossed with trails and gorgeous vistas in the shadows of the Rockies. The 2.3-million-acre woodland encompasses an array of wildlife habitats and recreational ventures, allowing you to take in fresh mountain breezes while hiking, mountain biking, or playing freeze tag with boulders.

After a day of alpine adventures, visit the Colorado Ski & Snowboard Museum for a glimpse into the evolution of bib overalls. On Tuesdays, Vail Village historical walking tours branch out from the museum into the charming, European-style village.

Snow flurries herald the arrival of skiing season in November, when the region transforms into a winter wonderland. Shuttles from Cordillera to nearby Vail and Beaver Creek slopes begin transporting passengers around this time. Closer to the resort, you can go cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and ice skating.

Horrible customer service We live in Snowmass Village and had planned a weekend at Cordillera to meet up with some friends and ski at Beaver Creek. We called to make a reservation in a suite, gave our credit card information, and drove in a couple weeks later. I gave them a call as we were driving in just to confirm our reservation. Not only did they not have our reservation, but the person who answered the phone made me feel like it was my fault. There was not a single apology or offer to try to help us, just, "well, we see that you made a reservation, but you never gave us your credit card so we canceled it". My husband was sitting next to me when I made the reservation and had given me his credit card to complete the reservation, so we knew that was BS. We drove up to the property anyway, thinking surely they would acknowledge their mistake and try to find us a room. Again, the clerk was very defensive and there was not a single offer to help us. Fortunately, we were able to find a wonderfully large suite in Beaver Creek Village with a delightful staff for less $$. We thought we were finished and just made a note never to stay at the Cordillera again. However, when our credit card statement came, lo and behold, there was our reservation, fully charged on the credit card! I don't know if they have changed management or ownership, but we have never had such poor service. Steer clear!!

False Advertising After check-in, front desk receptionist caught us at the door and told us they would have to 'move us to another room because we didn't tell them we were bringing our small dog and there would be a $125.00 non-refundable fee. We questioned where it notified us of that prior to making the reservation to which they said "It is in the fine print." NO WHERE on the website did we find the policy in the FINE PRINT. Pets Welcome was listed in the amenities but NO mention of any additional fee. . They apologized for the FALSE ADVERTISING but still charged us. Also it was our understanding that breakfast at $17.95/person was included in the fees. Also FALSE ADVERTISING. It is not included. If the room reservation could have been cancelled, we definitely would have gladly taken our dog and money elsewhere. However, it was clearly stated that NO REFUND would be made for cancellation of reservation. Suggestion: on your website, add 'additional fee' next to 'Pets Welcome.' Also - you need to clear your roadways!!! We will be making numerous trips to the area for some continued medical procedures - we will NOT be staying here again!

Worn looking Good points and not so goo points on this. Good points- beautiful view, the "living room" which is a common area by the fireplace to have drinks was nice. The Happy Hour was pretty good. I only had an appetizer there which was good, but can not comment on other foods. Personnel was nice Bad Points The Road up there is steep, so when it snowed, it was tense getting down for me The rooms are outdated circa 1990's with the brass/gold facets ect. My blow dryer was around that time frame to, and stopped working called down to the front desk to get a new one since it was below zero outside, still waiting.... they could have simply given a key to another room and get that one. There is also a 40 resort fee added to your bill. I did not use the gym when I was there.
