Great location with outstanding service What a great option for staying in NYC. Excellent location - we were just a short walk away from all the major theaters and many sights. We felt safe walking to and from the hotel at all hours of the day. The hotel itself was quite a treat. While it may seem older at first glance, note that the rooms are large, and the beds and baths very comfortable. Rooms were remarkably quiet. Staff was top notch and super helpful. We felt pampered. We will definitely return the next time we are in NYC.

Old School Charm Stayed here for a 5 day trip and could not have asked for better. From arrival staff were excellent. The doorman took our bags and made sure they were sent to our room. Reception staff very pleasant and courteous. Compared to other modern NYC hotels the bedroom was very spacious with plenty of room to make ourselves feel at home. Only downside was not having any kind of view from our room. We had breakfast on the last morning and it was excellent. Pancakes were probably the best we have ever tasted. The waiting staff were brilliant and very attentive. Location was great for us as only a few streets South of Central Park. Situated on 7th Ave you are only a 10-15min into Times Square, Rockefeller Centre, Grand Central Station. Others have said this hotel is old and outdated we would say old school classic with charm. I would definitely consider staying here again and would recommend for anyone considering a short stay in NYC

Great base for NYC 4 star hotel with 5 star hospitality! Could not fault the staff, extremely helpful and friendly. Check in and check out seamless. Rooms are very spacious for NYC and clean, bathrooms could maybe benefit from updating and a bit more attention to cleanliness, just in corners and a few surfaces. Breakfast was delicious and again staff were excellent. Would recommend for couples, we stayed 4 nights.

So wonderful! Can't wait to go back. I love this place. I've stayed here several times over the past 20 years, and I am so happy that it was just as wonderful as I remembered. I brought my family for the first time and it made me so happy to share this beautiful place with them. Henry, Thomas and the entire staff made us feel at home after 12 days on a cruise. They truly go above and beyond.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. It’s a complete nightmare! Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. It’s a complete nightmare! The room provided did not match the booking confirmation. Our booking clearly indicated a room with two double beds for four people. However, upon arrival, we found a room with one double bed and a rollaway single bed in the living room, which was unsuitable for our party. When we brought this to the attention of the reception staff, they claimed our booking was for a room with one king bed (but 4 people) and could not see the details of our third-party booking. They also incorrectly stated that two double beds in one room are illegal and unavailable at the hotel altogether, despite such rooms being advertised on Booking.com, complete with pictures. The manager on duty was unhelpful and borderline disrespectful, refusing to rectify the situation or acknowledge the error, despite the availability of 2 double rooms that evening as a supplement for their mistake. I checked online and found available rooms, yet the manager claimed there were no rooms available and that she did not have the authority to make any changes. Furthermore, when we mentioned the lack of adequate sleeping arrangements for the fourth person, we were told that an additional single bed could be rolled in for an extra charge, which is unacceptable given our original booking for four people. Fortunately, this only seemed more like a threat since another member of staff confirmed there is no additional charge. The manager also suggested we leave the hotel if their offer did not suit us. Additionally, the air conditioning in the room made an unbearable screeching sound, and the hotel decor was ultra outdated, far from the four-star rating they claim. This level of service is unacceptable for a four-star hotel and constitutes fraud.
