Memorable Stay Worth Talking About _ Shoutout to Samira. We lucked out meeting Samira at the service desk—she worked her magic and snagged us a sweet upgrade from an executive view double to a spacious two room family suite with not one but two bathrooms. Yep, double the sinks, double the comfort especially with two teenage girls. The room, tucked in the older wing, had plenty of charm and the dual A/C kept things cool all day. After experiencing the suite, we would only want this type of room again. Later, she even offered to move us to a terrace room (daughter request), but the hotel was booked solid, so we stayed put in our suite—which we didn’t mind one bit. ⏰ Early Check-In Win We arrived around 1PM and, despite requesting it in advance, weren’t charged a single cent. Big win for weary travelers! No need to have them hold my baggage and we were able to rest in our room before exploring the city. _ Location, Location, Location You can’t beat the spot—subway entrance literally right outside the building (other lines within walking distance), Madison Square Garden literally catty corner across the street, CVS across the street, and even a Target within two blocks. Penn Station’s got enough tasty options to keep your cravings satisfied including multiple coffee/bakery shops. _ Zooming to the 24th Floor Two banks of elevators (can’t remember if there were 5 or 6 elevators per bank)—one for floors 1–19 and another for 20 and up—made getting to our room on the 24th floor surprisingly speedy. I did see some expression from guests on the higher floors as the elevator must have stopped on multiple floors on the way down but this was close to checkout time too. _️ Historic Vibes The hotel’s architecture and ambiance have this classic, timeless feel that adds a touch of elegance to the entire experience. There are some historical items in the basement along with a modern gym. Some Cons: • _ Potentially hectic check-in depending on timing—especially during peak hours. While the staff made a strong effort (with four people assisting), the process can still feel lengthy. The large lobby also filled up with people either waiting to check-in or for their rides. • _ Plan ahead if you want to check your language upon checking out. There were long lines for luggage services. This amenity is popular and often in high demand, which led to delays. Overall, we would definitely stay here again. We stayed at a cheaper hotel last year and the room barely fit our two beds and was cramped everywhere in the hotel. If you can afford it, definitely recommend the suites for the room especially with four people.

Miguel at the front of Guest Serivces is an example of excellence in hospitality. Miguel at guest services was EXCEPTIONAL. He absolutely made my experience one of the best I’ve ever had. From friendliness to client service to unmatched hospitality with a sincere desire to make my trip the best possible, Miguel as a professional in hospitality is second to none. I would do everything I could to keep him as part of your team. He is high level management material with the rare understanding of the human experience.

Find another hotel! Do NOT book here. The first morning, after delayed flights and getting in a midnight, someone came into our room at 8am. They mixed up our room numbers and thought our room was vacant. We paid extra for a room with a view and got a view of construction and the side of a building. No view at all. (See pic) The TV didn’t work and we asked three times for extra blankets and they never came. There are too many other choices in NY so choose something else. They said they would credit us and send an email and I’m still waiting for the email.

Ignored Hotel is in a great location. It’s relatively clean for a 100 year old plus hotel. The reason for my poor rating was my numerous request for help with a clogged sink went totally unanswered. It was clogged to the point of having to wash face and brush teeth hanging over the bathtub so the sink would not overflow. I had to put up with it my entire 5 night stay. I think they could have done better. Manager offered after I finally got in touch with one to discount my next stay. Seriously?

“It’s a queen size bed—just not the size of a queen bed you have at home.” That’s the explanation I got from the front desk.Whaat? It’s 3:00 a.m., and I’m writing this review while clinging to the edge of a so-called “queen” bed that feels more like a generous full. After an 8-hour international flight, my partner and I were counting on a real night’s rest. Instead, we’ve been playing a nightly game of human bumper cars. I double-checked the room specs before booking—but now I’m triple-checking mattress dimensions in the middle of the night on Google, trying to make sense of this. The hotel itself is fine. Location? Great. Staff? Friendly. Vibe? Vintage. But if you’re here for sleep (and isn’t that kind of the point of a hotel?), you might want to bring a measuring tape—or a backup plan..
