Great Location, But Beware of Room Size and Billing Issues The hotel is in a great location, and overall, we felt safe and enjoyed the surroundings. However, there are some important points for future guests to be aware of. We booked two rooms for five people, but unfortunately, the rooms are quite small and only come with queen-sized beds. The room intended for three people was especially cramped, which led us to upgrade—this did resolve the space issue. That said, we were mistakenly charged twice for the upgrade, and the hotel has been unresponsive in addressing this, which is disappointing and not acceptable for a hotel of this brand and caliber. This issue has left a negative impression on what was otherwise a pleasant stay. Additionally, be aware that the on-site restaurant applies a mandatory gratuity of 18%, 20%, or even 22%, regardless of service quality. In our opinion, tipping should be at the discretion of the guest and reflect their satisfaction. We recommend this hotel for its location and general ambiance, but advise potential guests to clarify room details and billing policies in advance. I would highly apreciate if someone from the hotel would resolve our issue immediately.

Great Nostalgic Hotel with Great Front Desk I stayed at The New Yorker Hotel for 4 days. Loved the architecture and history of the hotel. I had First Class service from the very beginning. Mohammed was the person that help me check into my room. He was wonderful, had a smile and welcomed me to the hotel. Help me get a great room and answered all my questions and really went out of his way to make me feel welcome. After checking into my room which was a good size for a New York hotel with a nice bed. Mohammed called me 5 minutes later in my room to see if the room met my expectations and i said it did and he told me to call him if he could be of further service. So now every time I come to NYC I would stay exclusively at the New Yorker not just because it is in a great location but they have a very helpful staff.

Not impressed. I booked this hotel on booking.com in October 24 for a 6 night stay on in May 25. I took my 14 year old daughter who wants to live in NY when older. I paid extra for a room with a view of the city. I emailed through booking.com a few times to ask to be as high as possible and for information about whether the room had a fridge. I never received any reply. We arrived last Saturday 24th May. We arrived late at around 11pm and were tired having been up for 24 hours travelling. The reception lady booked us in and gave us a room on 8th floor with no view. We had to go back down, despite being tired and wanting to just go to sleep, and explain to her we booked and paid for a room with a view. I explained that I had emailed several times to request a high floor but had no reply. She said that there were no rooms with views available and that we would have to stay in the room allocated for the night and then put our bags into hotel storage the following morning and come back at 6pm the next day to see if any rooms with views had come available. I found her abrupt and quite rude, with no people skills. She told me she was tired and just wanted to go home. I said this situation was unacceptable as I had paid extra for a room with a view. I wasn’t happy that I’d have to get up early and be without a hotel room for the day with nowhere to go back to if I felt tired. I asked to speak with a manager. He was much better and understood my frustration and agreed it was not acceptable as I had paid for something they were unable to provide. He gave us one complimentary continental breakfast voucher and promised to upgrade our room the next day as well as giving us a room with a view. We did get a better view but we were not upgraded as promised. Overall it was ok, after the initial problems. The hotel was dated but clean. Our shower in our bathroom trickled out and the plug didn’t drain well. I had to ask three times for a fridge before they delivered one to our room nearly 24 hours after asking. The room card wouldn’t work to let us in the fitness centre, and we had to keep going back to reception to ask them to re- program it. Good location but I wouldn’t stay here again due to the problems.

Great Location and Spacious Rooms Without a doubt, this is the largest room we've stayed in at Times Square. Our room featured two beds and two bathrooms. Although the hotel, built in 1929, has some areas that need improvement, especially the bathrooms, it was perfect for our three-night stay. Customer service was excellent and promptly addressed any issues we encountered. The location was ideal, right next to the train station. If you're looking for a practical, not luxurious, hotel, this is the one.

Wyndham Not sure what to expect but great location, clean, good size (except bathroom which was quite small). Was it worth a 2 hour time share presentation? Probably. Did I waste that poor saleswoman’s time? Absolutely. I do recommend staying at this hotel, not super fancy but good deal for location.
