The Reef Coco beach was fantastic. They have everything you need from bicycles to ride around, daily activities like water volleyball, beach yoga, free drinks at the swim up bar, cabanas at the pool, 3 hot tubs, 4 restaurants. The Samurai Japanese steakhouse was awesome, it is the only restaurant that isn’t included in the all inclusive, but it’s only $10 per person for sushi, hibachi and dessert

Playa del Carmen, Mexico: Trendy Beach Area and Diving Destination

Just across the sea from the island of Cozumel, Playa del Carmen has been called "the hippest city in all of the Yucatán Peninsula" by Lonely Planet. The laid-back beach bars and cafés have a way of converting vacationers into expats, but Playa's most compelling draw might be its cenotes—cavernous sinkholes filled with turquoise pools. The water in the cenotes is crystal clear, particularly at the lily-pad-dotted Xlacah cenote, where you can snorkel among schools of colorful fish.

To the south, you'll find preserved ruins of pre-Columbian cities. Tulum's crumbling temples are situated above a dramatic ocean bluff, and Coba's enormous pyramid rises between two lagoons. For a fun day trip, hop aboard the ferry to Cozumel, which docks at the pier east of Calle 1. There are about a dozen dive shops on Cozumel, and they offer trips offshore to the reefs that Jacques Cousteau declared some of the world's most beautiful.

Disappointing We checked in today. I’m kicking myself for not reading reviews and just trusting a 4 star hotel. The bed is a literal rock so uncomfortable, sheets are not soft. The water in the bathroom smells like rotten eggs. There isn’t much to do at the resort with kids other than the pool and ocean. The food is terrible … we went to the Mexican restaurant.. I’m sorry but we have better Mexican food back home in the states. The all Inclusive doesn’t include the Japanese restaurant and was told it’s $20 per person extra. So there is very limited food options. The snack bar was pretty bad. All the food has been cold.. We booked a JetBlue vacations package. The “all-inclusive” vacation package did NOT include all inclusive. This hotel was a 45 minute drive from Cancun airport. Upon arrival we paid $60 per adult per day for all inclusive because what were we not going to eat… having young kids we didn’t feel comfortable finding alternatve food outside of the resort, Ultimately super disappointed and wishing we were literally anywhere else. Everything is so mediocre here. I have previously stayed at Ocean Rivera and it’s alot nicer and more activities. Don’t be fooled by the low price they charge you at check in the difference. Doesn’t seem like hotel takes any responsibility for all the bad reviews. The towel service they give you cards and if you lose the cards you’re responsible to pay $30 per card. The hotel room is pretty outdated and doesn’t look super clean. Pool needs some work as tiles are broken. The pool isn’t as big as it looked online. Beach area is pretty small. Positive- the waiters were very friendly and attentive

Wonderful Family Vacation This was our second stay at the Reef Coco Beach, and we loved it. It's a charming resort that is not huge like other resorts. That was part of why we chose this location since we had some family members with mobility issues. The staff ensured my father got wheelchair transportation to and from the upstairs restaurants and helped him with his walker at other places at the resort. We liked the food at all locations especially the Japanese restaurant (even though there was a $20/person extra charge). Be sure to makes your dinner reservations at 9 AM at the front desk the day you wish to attend your desired restaurant with the exception of the buffet. All of the staff were extremely welcoming and ensured we had a memorable experience. We enjoyed the Michael Jackson show and silent disco as well as the activities by the pool like Bingo, name the song, movie trivia, and pool foam. Some standout staff were Boris with entertainment, Ramon at the bar, and Angel in the restaurants. Everyone worked diligently to ensure the grounds were clean, maintained, and presentable. We saw them repainting walls, making repairs to unused rooms, and even dusting the wood on the umbrellas. We were treated like family, had many laughs, and created fantastic memories.

Home Away From Home The staff are amazing. Boris always remembers us and is so fun. We feel like family there and it is our tradition to go every year at the same time. Food and atmosphere are the best. Definitely recommend going fishing and talking to Pedro at The Dive Shop
