Resort at a Glance: The Resort at Port Ludlow

The waters of Ludlow Bay, a protected cove of the Puget Sound, are more tranquil than most, frequented by paddling otters and blue herons that stand guard in its mist. The Resort at Port Ludlow sits on the tree-lined shore, channeling the sound’s calm spirit and providing access to its streams from a 300-slip marina.

  • Private retreat: Each room has an oversize jetted tub and a gas fireplace great for cool evenings.
  • Waterfront dining: The Fireside’s seasonal menus highlight local farms and fisheries, and its wine list spans the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
  • Best way to relax: in-room spa treatments such as Swedish massage
  • Port Ludlow Golf Club: This Robert Muir Graves course is also an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, meaning both golfers and deer roam the fairways.

Port Ludlow, Washington: Recreational Community on the Olympic Peninsula

Port Ludlow sits along the northwest coast of Puget Sound’s Main Basin. Due to its location in the “rain shadow” of the Olympic Mountains, the area gets much less rain than other parts of the Northwest, making it a popular destination for hikers and bikers. Port Ludlow has nearly 30 miles of maintained trails, including the Ludlow Falls.

About 55 miles west of Port Ludlow is Olympic National Park. It’s home to the Hoh Rainforest and the mountainous area of Hurricane Ridge. The park gives visitors unique hiking opportunities from the beach to the snowcapped mountains in warmer months. In winter, skiers and snowshoers take to the powdery landscape.

Subdoed Historic Elegance. The Resort at Port Ludlow is a fantastic place to use as a base to explore the Peninsula or to have a fomantic getaway where you can re-explore your friendships or relationships. Great food and wine in the restuarant. Doggy friendly. The place is historic , so no glitzy glass facades. It has a mellow laid back historic charm. Be prepared to enjoy the weather that the Peninsula can provide. If inclement button up and enjoy it. Shopping in Port Townsend or Sequim is a drive away. Finaly the service is great!

Welcoming staff, mostly clean, peaceful location Stayed one night in order to visit friends in Chimakum and Port Townsend. Room was a nice size, and "mostly" clean. Our room had a balcony and it was a beautiful view of the marina and a nice place to see the sunset, but because the neighboring room also did the same, it did not feel as private since we chose to leave the deck door open (the weather was quite hot and the breeze was needed) we felt that we needed to speak in hushed tones to not be overheard or disturb our room neighbors and just did not feel as "at home" in the room. In the colder months, perhaps this wouldn't be an issue. The jacuzzi tub looked inviting, until it didn't . There was a long dark hair on the corner and a small curly hair near the drain, in addition to some brown goopy stuff near where the faucet would drip down. Everything else in the room was clean, the California King bed was comfortable, although the pillows were not, but that's a personal preference, of course. The shower had great water pressure and the front desk staff was lovely and welcoming. The complimentary morning coffee at the front desk was hot and better than the bags in the room. We appreciated the room fridge, but the wifi is spotty and there are no charging ports for phone or computer and I did not bring my outlet adapter.
