Property at a Glance: The Ridge Tahoe

The Ridge Tahoe has ski-in, ski-out access to Heavenly Ski Resort via the HillTrac Skier Express monorail. It’s one of the many ways the resort caters to skiers and everyone else, too: it has a spa, restaurant, fitness center, and tennis courts sprawled out on its 11 acres near the south shore of Lake Tahoe. A complimentary shuttle whisks hotel guests to a drop-off point a few blocks from the lake, as well as nearby casinos in Stateline, Nevada, and Stagecoach Lodge and Gondola at Heavenly Ski Resort.

  • Go for a swim in one of the heated indoor or outdoor pools.
  • Get in the game: You can play tennis at the indoor tennis complex, racquetball on the two indoor courts, or indoor basketball.
  • Pamper yourself at the spa with treatments such as a European facial, hot-stone massage, or exfoliating body scrub.
  • Take a snowshoeing adventure: at the nearby Tahoe Rim Trail. The trailhead is conveniently located on the property.
  • Steak, seafood, and pasta are on the menu at the onsite Hungry Bear Restaurant, with varying hours, or at the Mountain Side Eatery, open 7 days a week.

South Lake Tahoe, California: Year-Round Haven for Outdoor Adventures and Late-Night Revelry

Lake Tahoe has no real off-season; people find ways to make use of its pristine water, beaches, and mountains all year long. In the summer, the lake’s clear, freshwater surface—which straddles the California-Nevada border—is dotted with swimmers, boaters, and jet skiers. Several ski resorts with world-class slopes typically stay open from November to April, and Emerald Bay State Park is accessible year-round. A moderately easy hike to the base of Lower Eagle Falls reveals breathtaking views of the waterfalls crashing down from above.

A diverse crowd of spectators gathers at night for South Lake Tahoe’s various events, which range from wine and food festivals to rock concerts and fireworks displays. A few miles northwest of South Lake Tahoe sits Stateline, Nevada, where a handful of casinos host high-stakes games of blackjack and solitaire.

Do not stay here.. no AC..carpet not clean We booked via vrbo with leavetown to stay in 2 be for our 30th Vrbo..aka leavetown did NOT tell us that there was noAC. I have a breathing condition and cannot go without air. Holiday inn told me that we could get swamp coolers which would cool the room. They brought one, and the water ran onto the floor so it did not work. We went back and expressed our concern, but they said they couldn’t do anything about it. I was not all night and could not sleep as it was 85 degrees. called leavetown and expressed concerned..they just said they will ensure they post no AC.. I had to leave 5 days early due to the situation and had to pay for a different place. I have asked for a refund but leavetown nor holiday inn will give me money back. Leavetown says holiday inn has the money and vice versa. I would never stay there again..toilet didn’t work, had to be fixed 3 times, refrig was leaking and the carpet was filthy…found a used my butt I our room even though they claim they have enhanced cleaning. I don’t trust either of them. I am taking this to my cc company for relief. I expect them to keep their part of the contract as I paid on time. So disappointed!!,

Worst vacation rental ever. Absolutely the WORST timeshare vacation spot that we have ever visited. Dilapidated, dirty, dark and hot (no AC) for starters. We stayed in the Terrace building. There’s only one little 10W light bulb for the toilet/shower room and so we basically showered in the dark. The carpet was so tattered and dirty that we left our shoes on the entire time. The linens were years beyond their normal life. We ended up leaving the place after the first night and escalated the issue to the parent timeshare company (Interval Intl). Do NOT trust Interval Intl when they say it’s a premier resort.

Another great visit We have been owners for almost 20 years and enjoy coming up a few times a year. We were in desperate need of an escape because of the pandemic and were looking forward to a change of scenery. I started looking at the reviews since it has been 2 years since we've been up and I'm not going to lie I was nervous. When we arrived check in was excellent. We waited in our car and received a text saying to check in to the lobby. Our room was ready and off we went. We stayed in the Cascade building. They DO NOT have any air conditioners in the rooms and are stuffy and even a bit hot. We opened the windows and balcony door to air it out. A swamp cooler and fans were provided. The cleanliness of the rooms are questionable. You would think they would be even more clean with the pandemic but I guess there really is a labor shortage as I did notice some items on the floor. We ran the dishwasher immediately so all the dishes were clean and wiped down all services to make sure everything was sanitized (we never have done this while on vacation). Over all the room was great and clean enough. I didn't feel that it was filthy just some overlooked items on the floor. We also spent a lot of time at the pool. The stairway to the pool is in desperate need of repair and seems like a trip hazard waiting to happen. Myself and family were pleased with the resort and our stay. Can't wait for the next time.
