Great stay - key location I had a wonderful stay at the Shoreham Hotel NYC. The location is excellent, the room was comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. I’d especially like to recognize Flor at the front desk, who was exceptionally helpful and always smiling. Her professionalism and kindness truly enhanced my stay.

Uh . . . is ‘horrible’ too strongly worded? Several items of why to avoid this hotel: 1) Filthy carpets that haven’t been changed out in a century, 2) Stained, cheap upholstery and even cheaper furniture, 3) Absent and/or dirty baseboards, 4) NO amenities like drink glasses or a coffee maker, 5) Broken hairdryer, 6) Glacial, if at all functioning, internet speed, and 7) Every traveler’s favorite . . . passive-aggressive, quasi-hostile front desk staff. Yes! Pretty much le piece de resistance, wouldn’t you say? Do yourself a big favor and don’t stay at this hotel. Other than for the sex-sounds coming from next door, a true crowd pleaser, it was pretty quiet, though.

DISAPPOINTED! Do not let them charge your card more than once without an instant refund!! Over 3 weeks later -$240!!! We stayed here for my sisters wedding in September - we had to ask to change one of the rooms due to the smell, however this was done and we were happy with the room and the location was great. HOWEVER, on checkout we were charged a second charge on our card, on top of the original $240 upon check in. When we queried this they stated the first was a “holding payment” and would be released back within 14 days of checkout. They stated we should have used a credit card so no funds would be taken out of our card - we weren’t told this on arrival and they took our normal bank card. When I asked at the desk for confirmation that I would get this back the gentleman “couldn’t see the first transaction as there had been a glitch” and he would speak to the person in charge to resolve and for me to come back… I then went back to the hotel before leaving for the airport to be told by someone it’s fine it’s only pending it will definitely come back. Over 3 weeks later and I have still not received back the $240 holding fee. we have emailed with no response. DO not let them take a second charge as we are now $400 dollars down with no sight of our $240 holding fee. So disappointing after a trip of a life time.

Wrongly charged by The Shoreham At my checkout of the Shoreham ,I was informed that two expenses had been wrongly charged in my account but there would be a refund as soon as possible . Unfortunately ,this proceeding never happened. I post to prevent future guests from mismanagement of this establishment.
