The Las Vegas Strip: 24/7 Entertainment and Fine Dining

With an almost unlimited variety of casinos, bars and nightclubs, and live entertainment, the general consensus along the Las Vegas Strip seems to be “go big or go home.” And you can go really big here. Make a beeline for the dozens of 24-hour casinos lining the neon-lit Strip to tango with Lady Luck in high-stakes games of roulette, blackjack, and poker; or grab a front-row seat to the city’s over-the-top glitz at nightly magic, acrobatic, and musical performances. Be sure to stick around for mealtimes—casinos on the Strip are known for their fine-dining restaurants and extravagant buffets overflowing with crab legs and prime rib.

Even Sin City isn’t all casinos, all the time. Go shopping at the high-end boutiques found inside most hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, or head to Fashion Show Las Vegas to browse racks at Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue. You can also virtually travel the globe in just a few city blocks, thanks to the Strip’s re-creation of the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, and Venetian canals. And you’ll find a surprising number of activities in Las Vegas for kids hidden amid the raucous nightlife.

No towels on our first morning, and stained towels on the third morning. Other than that it was ok.

I got there exhausted after driving for hours. I just wanted to check-in, use my food credit and relax. Instead of being greeted with a warm welcome, I was checked in by Aliza. She claimed they had no reservation on file for me and asked me to show her my reservation from Groupon. Even though I was charged for the entire stay immediately upon making the reservation the day before, they claimed I wasn’t even “in the system”. I showed it to her and verified that they had charged me for the stay several times while she delayed my check-in. She then asked me to send her the email, as if to imply my reservation was fake. I sent it to the hotel manager upon her request. She then went on to act as if I entered the email wrong and it was my fault it wasn’t received. I showed her several times as she took my phone out of my hand to prove that I made no error in the entry. She left me waiting stupidly and then returned to tell me they were able to check me in temporarily but I would have to contact Groupon customer support to report the issue and request they call the hotel to correct the issue by making the reservation after the fact. Last I checked, that’s part of her job description, not mine. On top of all of this, I was not given any food credit for my stay which meant my food cost was over budget because I had taken the credit into account when booking my stay here. I asked for an accessible room on a lower floor, as I am disabled. I would have thought they would’ve given me an upgrade after all the trouble and pain they put me through. The room was not newly remodeled, as promised on the website. The bathroom looked like it needed new floors and tile and didn’t have a tub. This was disappointing because I was hoping to relax my aching muscles in a hot bath. They also kept the pool closed the first few days of my stay “due to weather”. Another disappointment, as I was looking forward to having a drink by the pool while I read a book. That didn’t happen. Also, they seemed to have security in uniforms roaming the floors and halls which made the environment even more intimidating. It was impossible to get room service. Whenever I called any of the departments they left they phone ringing for 20+ minutes and then hung up on me. The only good comments I have are for the housekeeping and maintenance. They were respectful and courteous and didn’t hesitate to provide for my requests. They also did a great job of keeping the common areas clean and sanitized. The toiletries provided were also good quality. I stayed here over a week but it felt like less because of all the time I had to spend fixing things and doing other people’s jobs for free. It was supposed to be a restful stay and instead all I got was stress and more work. Needless to say, I doubt I will be staying here again or using Groupon for purchases again in the future. This stay was a total disappointment. I would recommend staying elsewhere if you plan on getting treated like a person. Just sayin.
