Relaxing retreat Peaceful resort with beautiful grounds full of blooming flowers. Rooms are comfortable and relaxing.I especially enjoyed the scent of jasmine in the air. Nice space for a relaxing retreat personally or professionally. Location in Carlsbad is a nice distance away from San Diego to create that a sense of retreat.

Nice Stay, But Check-In Was a Frustrating Ordeal We stayed here after a day at Legoland to celebrate my son’s 2nd birthday. Unfortunately, the check-in experience was disappointing. We were given a ground-level room with two beds directly on the street—nowhere near what we booked (a one-king room with a balcony through JP Morgan Chase Travel). It felt unsafe for our toddler and was not family-friendly. When I called the front desk, the staff member was dismissive, falsely claimed the hotel was full, and told Chase I was happy with the room—which I clearly wasn’t. It took over an hour on the phone with Chase and Expedia to resolve the issue, and even their rep found the hotel staff difficult to work with. We were finally moved to the correct room, but had to relocate our bags ourselves after no one came to help as promised. That said, the facilities were beautiful, the new room was great, and the restaurants on-site were excellent. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, but the initial front desk experience left a bad first impression that could have been easily avoided with more professionalism.

Perfect spot for a perfect weekend. We planned our stay here for a Legoland weekend, finding this place is full of present surprises. The gentleman works at the reception presented me the decency of the hotel, and made me feel the value of having a higher tier of Marriott membership. We had a nice morning began with breakfast served by a kind-hearted server, then we walked acrossed the unrestricted self-parking lot, through a special access to the theme park in a reasonable distance. We felt a five star rating to this place is a well-deserved.
