Dallas, Texas: Rejuvenated Urban Districts and Historical Parks

Though some know Dallas only for the massive AT&T Stadium (which is actually in Arlington), the city is also an enclave of arts and nature, overflowing with botanical gardens, art galleries, and live theater. Historic Main Street connects many of the city’s recently rejuvenated urban districts, as well as the popular Main Street Garden, a block-long public park surrounded by architecturally significant buildings.

A short walk from downtown Dallas, you’ll find horse-drawn carriages clopping along brick streets in the city’s historic West End district, which dates back to the 19th century. This part of the city also contains Dealey Plaza, where President Kennedy was assassinated in November 1963. At The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, housed in the former Texas School Book Depository, you can visit the spot where Lee Harvey Oswald is believed to have shot at Kennedy’s presidential motorcade.

Nice but in scary area Scary area. I was not comfortable there at night. The staff was nice, we didn't see many as we were there for a quick stay. I dont remember being offered Breakfast, That traffic- ugh. Overall, it was a nice hotel. I just wished for more light outside and a feeling that I was safer.

Do not stay here! This property is awful! It is not in a safe location. We checked in, stayed exactly long enough to get unloaded. Then, we packed back up, checked out and left to find a cleaner, safer location. The front office guy was unhelpful and told us to call the manager the next day. We tried that, had to leave a message and still haven’t gotten a call back. There were men (assuming construction workers) hanging out in the parking lot. My husband watched a drug deal go down in the parking lot. Furthermore, you can look up the road the hotel is on on Tik Tok and check out the awesome prostitution ring they have going on in that area. Also, the hotel is under major construction and the parts that are accessible are unclean. It would have been better for Holiday Inn to demolish this property and rebuild elsewhere. They have refused to refund our stay even though they didn’t disclose the true extent of the condition of the property. Construction containers surrounded the entire property making it even more dangerous and easy for people to hide out.

Employees are nice but place is very rundown The hotel does not look like the pictures it’s like you are walking in a hotel from the 60s or 70s. Ceiling looks like they’re going to fall down. Only one elevator works which has the smell of gas. Carpet is very dirty, the sofa in the room was fully stained. Hairs everywhere in the bed in the bathtub. Did not stay had to leave due to feeling uncomfortable. Staff Understood that we did not feel comfortable and let us leave. Have no complaints of staff.
