Dallas, Texas: Rejuvenated Urban Districts and Historical Parks

Though some know Dallas only for the massive AT&T Stadium (which is actually in Arlington), the city is also an enclave of arts and nature, overflowing with botanical gardens, art galleries, and live theater. Historic Main Street connects many of the city’s recently rejuvenated urban districts, as well as the popular Main Street Garden, a block-long public park surrounded by architecturally significant buildings.

A short walk from downtown Dallas, you’ll find horse-drawn carriages clopping along brick streets in the city's historic West End district, which dates back to the 19th century. This part of the city also contains Dealey Plaza, where President Kennedy was assassinated in November 1963. At The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, housed in the former Texas School Book Depository, you can visit the spot where Lee Harvey Oswald is believed to have shot at Kennedy’s presidential motorcade.

My experience at the Westin was awesome, great hospitality. Thumbs up to the manager Natalia for giving us a complimentary breakfast and must I say that the breakfast buffet was amazing and the food was delicious and everything was organized and the staff was very polite and attentive. The beds was so comfortable I didn’t want to get up. The Westin will be my new go to just for relaxation!

The breakfast ruined the experience We had a great experience until we ate breakfast the next morning. The food was a little pricey for the quality of food. We ordered 2 sausage egg burritos for $32 and it was very unpleasant. Would not recommend eating here.

Consistently good This has been my go to hotel in Dallas for over a decade. I've been here for conferences and solo travel and I've never had a bad experience. I think it wants to be a little more classy than it is, but it's always clean and comfortable, and the staff are friendly. My only dislike is the parking garage.

Gad Ephraim is the man! Gad Ephraim is a rockstar! He gave me 5 star respect and service at Bar 1856. I showed up one day in a kickass blue and black suit (which clearly means that my wife put it together) and he totally respected me and poured some kickass tasty cocktails. next day i showed up in jeans and an untucked shirt and he treated me the exact same way. that kind of respect is very hard to find these days. when you find it, you know you have to honor it, and that's what i'm doing right now. come on in and check him out. he won't steer you wrong with your cocktail choices, pours like a master, and helps you figure out what you want to eat (full kitchen menu).
