Palm Desert, California: Shopping and Wildlife in Scenic Coachella Valley

Palm Desert shares the desert landscape and resort atmosphere of nearby Palm Springs. Palm Desert’s El Paseo is known as the Rodeo Drive of the desert for its art galleries and high-end retailers such as Gucci and Ralph Lauren.

Palm Desert is also a gateway to Joshua Tree National Park, located about 40 miles away. The desert park is famous for its unusual geologic formations and mountains of twisted rock and is home to wildlife including desert bighorn sheep and golden eagles. Wildlife sightings are guaranteed at The Living Desert, a zoo, botanical garden, and animal hospital in Palm Desert. As guests stroll through geographical regions, they see flora and fauna indigenous to that area, which can include giraffes or jaguars.

Surprise Upgrade We have stayed here several times before while traveling from Prescott to Camarillo and back. We have always been very satisfied with the service and very good free breakfast. This time, they upgraded us to an executive suite. It was very nice, roomy and clean. The location is also very conveniently located one block of Hwy 10. Thank you for the upgrade. We appreciate you!

Terrible customer experience and service The Staff is rude and unprofessional. I left my Airpods after we check out the room. I called hotel to let them know. I was instructed to provide the return shipping label via email which I did. I was told it would be mail out the next day. However, after 4 days, It still not receive it. So I called and was told .It not mailed yet. OMG, I ask why ....The staff is very rude and say we are not shipping company. I would mail it when we have time. What kind of respond is that!!! ITS VERY VERY VERY BAD

Pleasant Stay in The Valley Our room was spotless, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Unfortunately, the a/c made some really loud noises. The soap, shampoo, conditioner are the house brand, Alice + Co. There was no indication on the bottle whether or not it's safe for color or keratin treated hair. In the bathroom there was also a makeup remover wipe and one packet of Oasis moisturizer. They didn't replace the moisturizer I used until after the 2nd night. The breakfast buffet included with our room had hot foods (eggs, make your own waffles, sausages) and cold items (yogurt, cereal, breads). They only provide a bottle of water at check-in; you need to buy another bottle if you want one. The pool and hot tub area was comfortable, but there are only a few chaises out there and the pool towels were small and thin. They reminded me of camp.
