Overall a great resort. Food was really good. We ate at the pool bar, Latitude Steakhouse and Patron Restaurants. Rooms were clean and comfortable. View was awesome (studio room ocean view). Lazy river was so fun. I normally don't care to visit a resort more than once but I went on a girls trip and would definitely return with my husband and 2 small children. The pools were awesome.

Disappointing and Unsafe Stay – Poor Management I rarely write reviews but my experience at Villa La Valencia was so disappointing that I feel it’s important to share. When I booked I specifically requested first-floor rooms for medical and accessibility reasons. I confirmed this twice before arrival, yet when we checked in, I was told no first-floor rooms were available even though the hotel wasn’t full. Instead, we were placed in upper-level ocean-view rooms (that's great but not for someone with accessibility issues). The hotel later claimed I had asked to be “next to my brother,” which is completely false. I was not traveling with a brother and that fabricated statement alone makes me question the credibility of their records. Things got much worse when a severe water leak flooded our room from the ceiling. Water soaked our belongings and electronics. No manager ever came to help only a maid handed us plastic bags and told us to move to another room. We had no choice or say in the matter and were never offered an apology or refund. The new room had a small unsafe sofa bed with metal springs sticking out definitely not an “upgrade” as the hotel later claimed. Our replacement room also had an air conditioning failure for several hours and another family we traveled with experienced their own water leak that was ignored. Throughout all of this I repeatedly tried to contact the "general manager - Ignacio Lee" both during and after our stay and never received a single reply. The booking also included an 80-minute massage and a $250 spa credit, which turned out to be misleading. What we actually received were small, restricted discounts that were nothing like what was promised. To be fair, the workers at the hotel were kind, patient, and attentive. They did what they could under difficult circumstances. Unfortunately, the management and hotel leadership need serious improvement especially in communication, honesty and how they handle guest issues. Also, don’t fall for any special offers or promos they use to get you to book. They are not in your favor and are tied to timeshare style tactics to trick you to get you to book. Between the flooding, the unfulfilled room request, the unsafe sleeping arrangements and the lack of response from upper management, this stay was far from what I paid for. I’ve reached out several times privately and received no answer, so I’m posting here in hopes that someone from Villa La Valencia management will finally respond and address this properly.

Can’t wait to go back Had an excellent time at the Villa Valencia. Noe and Adrienne were so helpful out front while we arrived and to help us depart for the airport. Francesca or Francisca who works during the breakfast hours was always a pleasure to see. She always had a great big smile on the face was very welcoming and was such a kind and helpful server.

Unexpected perfection Our experience at Villa La Valencia and specifically Taberna was perfection. Raul was everything you could ask for in a server. He was attentive and intuitive while being efficient. Add in a good personality on top of magnificently executed dishes and you have a perfect recipe for a great dining experience. We will absolutely be back.
