Hotel at a Glance: Wilderness at the Smokies Stone Hill Lodge

Wilderness at the Smokies is home to the Wild WaterDome, Tennessee’s Largest Indoor Waterpark, which features a see-through roof and a newly completed 40,000 square foot expansion in December of 2023! The expansion includes a three-story water coaster, a Lazy River equipped with LED color changing lighting and a revamped indoor/outdoor hot spa. In addition, we’ve added Lookout Lagoon – a roof top pool with a glass edge offering fantastic views of the Great Smoky Mountains. Last but certainly not least, we completely overhauled our multi-level water play feature – Washout Mountain. This new structure features 45 play and spray features, four body slides and two pool sliders for the lil’ squirts to enjoy!

Never again!! This has been terrible! Never again will I come here. Nothing is thought out for the people paying. They don’t run anything with consistency or care to make things right. They just want your money tree to be picked clean. Meanwhile you can go to sleep with lights in your eyes from outside. Waking up the sun in your eyes is a wonderful feeling! Then get up to no toiletries is nice. I’m glad I went to I Hop and grabbed TP paper. lol just kidding on the last one. Ps. Spend you money elsewhere!!!!

Slow service, lots of children, not adults only areas There is no place to go (pools) w/o kids. We have young adult children and no place is safe from young kids splashing etc. Also,went to rooftop bar- someone smoking weed up there and we had to advise bar tender as there was a no smoking sign. Meanwhile we were told no drinks in the pool. Ummm, really??!! Additionally not enough staff in general at restaurants and bars across property. Mediocre service at best.

DO NOT PURCHASE ANY EXTRAS OR CABANAS We had a good room and the kids enjoyed the water parks for the most part but I’m not sure if I would ever go back. If I did I definitely will not buy any of their “perks”. Purchased Night Owl and there were people that hadn’t paid for it that stayed the whole extra hour so that was the first time I felt ripped off. Then purchased a cabana and once it got busy we could not get served, every time we’d walk away and come back there were people in our “private” cabana. The staff wouldn’t go tell the people they couldn’t be there, said it was our responsibility. Just saying I could have saved $300 swam as long as I wanted, sat wherever I wanted, and probably got food and drinks a lot faster. Lesson learned but buyer beware.
