Winter Wonderland After swithing from Colorado to Tahoe, we landed at World Mark Zephyer Cove. We got lucky! Perfect place for peace and quiet to watch it snow and close enough to drive into South Lake Tahoe (SLT). Flew onto reno, Turro, drove I-580 to 50, no snow yet. While it was cloudy, drove around, shopped, did casinos. Heavenly Gondola was out for maitenanceall week. Skiers had to use California Lodge to get up. Before checking I called the resort and spoke with Sam, Asst. Mgr. As we had a 2 bedroom, he suggested ee request a 3rd(top) floor unit for the vaulted ceiling. I requested it, had received 12301, right by elevator. Noise was no issue. Separate ski closet by the door. The unit was very nice with gas fireplace with timer, full kitchen, king, 3 singles, soda Murphy bed. Marble like entry and kitchen. Carpet elsewhere. Borrowed yatzee and dominoes from FD, as well as tp, garbage bags, laundry and dishwasher detergent. You pay $17 for Internet for the week for 5 devices. All in all, great place and employees. We will bring our fa.ily back here on the future.

Carson City, Nevada: State Capital and Gateway to Lake Tahoe

Carson City is aglow with casinos—in some ways, their excitement echoes the rough-and-tumble air that characterized the town in frontier days. It was one of Nevada's first cities, thanks in part to a 19th-century silver boom that made it a suitable site for a US mint. The mint building has since been converted into the Nevada State Museum, where you can learn about the area's history through permanent and rotating exhibits focusing on life in the American West.

The city is bounded on one side by Lake Tahoe, which straddles the California-Nevada state line. There's no real off-season here; people find ways to make use of the lake's pristine water, beaches, and surrounding mountains all year long. The area's famous ski resorts typically operate from November to April. One of the most popular, Heavenly Mountain, is just 25 miles from Carson City. In the summer, Lake Tahoe fills up with swimmers, boaters, and jet skiers enjoying the pleasant climate and views of the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Horrendous Drive to Unit The drive here is horrendous. Kingsbury Grade slows to 20mph twice coming 3 miles up. Then you turn on Tramway Drive another curvy road. Check in is at the top of the hill. I was given a 3rd floor unit up 4 flights of stairs with 2 suitcases & groceries. The unit was very nice with a washer/dryer. I couldn’t get here on Sat. due to a snow storm. I missed 2 days of my week long stay. I will never stay here again due to the drive.

Lovely hotel, great location, but paying extra for WiFi??? The hotel is in a superb location and the staff on the front desk are so helpful and knowledgeable. Even when stumped by a query, they went online to try to answer it. There are two areas in which it could improve, the first is that on one night there was only one member of staff on the desk, and lots of queries. I’ve no idea what would have happened if he’d had to go anywhere, so please have a minimum of two staff members on. The second is the WiFi, no one should have to pay extra for WiFi in these times, especially when the computer for visitor use is broken. I get the argument that otherwise the costs would go up, but I doubt anyone would mind that! Thanks

No services and horrible internet. Resort has a pool, hot tub, and bbq pit — but if you are not staying in the building where you check-in you have to drive a mile to access. Paid for internet service and only getting a 3 Mbps connection, not really enough to do anything with. If you try to watch a movie, it freezes every 20 seconds. To add fuel to the fire, the building we are in has construction going on, we were not told until after we arrived. All day long the is machinery running and banging noises. This place sucks.

Relaxing hotel The hotel is just past the casinos. There is a nice strip mall one block away. The rooms were well equipped including small water and dryer. We even had a gift basket. Room even had a fireplace. It got cold in May. The staff was very friendly and offered several recommendations for places to eat.
