Lake Buena Vista, Florida: Gateway to World-Famous Theme Parks and Downtown Orlando

About 20 miles from downtown Orlando, Lake Buena Vista is the home of the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks and is named after the street where The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank is located. The world’s most-visited entertainment resort, spanning nearly 30,000 acres, encompasses four theme parks, two water parks, five golf courses, and the Disney Springs® Area. There’s no shortage of things to do here: begin your day at Magic Kingdom® Park by boarding a rocket-shaped three-seater that climbs to 180 feet before entering a deep black tunnel and racing past stars, satellites, and constellations. After that, ride a dune buggy through a haunted mansion. For dinner, head over to Epcot® to sample cuisine from Morocco, Mexico, France, Italy, and several other countries. The park's success has brought an influx of other theme parks to Orlando, including Universal Studios and SeaWorld.

Those hoping to shake up the typical theme-park-dominated itinerary can head into downtown Orlando's vibrant arts district. The neighborhood boasts venues such as the CityArts Factory, a multifaceted patchwork of gallery spaces, and SAK Comedy Lab, which holds improv shows 5 nights a week.

More humid inside then out Google review summary Checked in on Oct 1 for two nights. The recently refurbished lobby was welcoming but it went downhill from there when they wanted to charge us $30 per day to park when all the current web information stated $25. It’s not the $5 bucks, but they should be consistent and timely. They finally did adjust the fee at the end. Room 1080 is on the ground floor near the pool, no problem there, but the rooms are old and small and although recently refreshed, not refurbished, there is only so much “lip stick you can put on a pig”, as the saying goes. The carpets felt old and dirty, and would have preferred some easy to clean tile / plank product, especially with kids and the pool. Went to put away our valuables in a safe that would not work, okay still livable. Went to plug in a charger or two in outlets that would not hold the plug in place, it’s only a couple of nights, still livable. Now to be fair, the room was as clean as it could be and the bedding freshly made and comfortable. We were two adults their to shower and sleep maybe 6 hours a night before early admission to the parks. The hotel did provide an excellent and timely shuttle service. The room felt very humid, everything felt cold and damp, probably around at least 70% humidity level. Turning the A/C colder just made the problem worse as it was blowing cold moist air, even on the fan only mode. By this time we were too tired to complain and managed for the two nights. So after the first chilly and moist night, a hot shower would have been nice, didn’t happen. For the entire stay the water was barely warm, even after 10 minutes with water pressure that was almost non existent, a 70 year old man with an enlarged prostate can urinate with more pressure, no seriously. Also, be aware that the shower head is approximately 5 feet high so for those that are tall…, and there is no handheld sprayer for convenience or to hose down the kids. I’d give it one star except it being kinda clean and it’s location. Don’t understand all the positive reviews.

Needs bit of work but still good I wish they us know in check in when i went to the front desk that the elevator is down that was going to be near our room since we were on the 5th floor what would be the closest one if they couldnt move us. We had to hunt to find the closest elevator near us. self parking is very expensive 30 dollars when there competitor down the street is charging 20

Close to Disney Springs but housekeeping needs to be retrained Definitely better than last time EXCEPT house keeping banging on my door AGAIN at 1230 midnight on Saturday night to give me blankets I requested the previous Wednesday (and receive on Wednesday) waking up my room which was uncalled for. Didn't care we have a do not disturb sign up and didnt care it was 1230 midnight. Also AGAIN, housekeeping failed to fill the body wash, shampoo when they came in to take the trash out and make the beds. Only about .25 % was in the bottles at check in. Front staff super helpful and friendly at check in but the star of the show was Sheldon the gentleman greeting everyone upon arrival. That man needs a raise and a promotion
