Great location Check in was very easy at the lodge. We especially liked having the village across the street from the lodge. Made it easy to purchase food. Our room was clean and comfortable. What you would expect from an older building. However, it was adequate for our needs. The parking was so much better than at the other park lodges. There was always ample parking spaces. The shuttle stop was just a short walk from our building. Would recommend this lodge if you are looking for a quiet location with ample parking and convenience to the shuttle and village.

Horrible smelly room Worst ever! The room smelled horrible strong musty odor. Permeated my lungs and clothes. No other rooms so we were stuck there overnight. Primitive bathroom was terrible and broken down no grasp bar in tub. Don’t understand how there are so many good reviews. Over $300 a night for this horrible experience.

Wonderful staff This is the second time we've stayed at the lodge, though to be honest, this year we should have been at the now burnt down North Rim. Rooms are large, the bed is comfortable, everything is kept clean. In a perfect world, the food at the lodge would be better. Potato chips instead of fries? Cold breakfast potatoes in the buffet? In the restaurant seating area, the air conditioning is cranked to an Arctic level, which even the staff complained to me about. One complaint I have about the guests. I borrowed a large trash bag from the room service team and went trash picking behind the complex where we were staying. Budweiser cans, coke cans, beer bottles, vapes, condom wrappers and a zillion coffee creamer packs - what gives with all of that? Your visiting one of nature's finest places and you're too fricking lazy to pick up after yourself? Something is very wrong with that.
