Old and Rundown The Zermatt Hotel felt a little like the hotel in The Shining, a little old and a lot tired. There were no ice machines on either the 2nd or 3rd floors. You had to go down to the front desk and ask; the clerk would then go into the bar with your ice bucket and fill it for you. The hot tub was hot but there was no way to turn on any jets. In fact the "On" button had a metal plate over it. All that was left was the "On" sign. The safe was locked and unable to be used. I guess I could have gone down to the front desk and made a request to open it, hoping that the desk clerk wasn't too busy getting ice for another hotel guest. And you could only get your room tidied up if you stayed 5 days, then and only then, would a maid come in on day 4. So then, there's the daily resort fees of $28.80. I am a platinum Rewards member, so the Wyndham rewards rate that I paid included the $28.80 in my room rate, which I proved to the manager. She proceeded to charge me an additional $28.80 per day for 3 days ($86.40) when I checked out. I fought her on it at check out, and then in a subsequent phone call. After talking to her boss, she reluctantly said she would credit my card for $86.80. It's been 5 business days, and I have yet to see it hit my account. That might have been enough to appease me, but in an email, she still thought that she was in the right to charge me, which riled me to no end. First of all, the Zermatt has no business charging a resort fee for a substandard accommodations, and the lack of wintertime amenities, ie. mini golf, tennis court, beach volleyball, outdoor pool, can't be utilized. And the indoor amenities were lacking, hot tub with no jets, no ice, no safe, and no maid service. And second of all, if you are going to manage a Wyndham property, understand how the Wyndham rewards rate works at your resort.

Family Fun at the Bear Hotel Fun family get a way to this amazing hotel. We love to stay here because of the swiss vibe and the amenities. The pool is a lot of fun for the kids. The Spa is wonderful for the adults. We love the bakery treats too.

No personal available I found the room extremely dirty, with candy wrappers left behind by previous guests. The carpets were torn and covered in dust. The coffee machine was dusty and there were no capsules provided. The front desk staff was unfriendly and offered no useful information. When we tried to report excessive noise coming from the neighboring room, we couldn’t find anyone—there was no staff at the front desk or anywhere else in the hotel. Not recommended.

Nice resort The 3-bedroom villa we had was beautiful. The rooms were large and the beds were great. I just wish the waterfall hot tube hadn't had issues when we were there. It would have been great to use. The coffee shop had a great selection of tasty treats.
